General Hospital spoilers from this week’s soap magazines offer new information that supports the rumor that Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) has meningitis. Now, it appears that Sam may have passed the illness to little Scout Morgan (Lori and Sevan Andonian). Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) will soon have his hands full with a sick child and a delusional wife that’s determined to kill Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to save their family from the mob.
Sam’s symptoms intensify
On the latest General Hospital recap , Sam bought a gun from a shady source and pointed it at the Sonny hallucination. Nathan Varni said in an interview that Sam would shoot Sonny, but will this be Sam shooting the real Sonny or a pot shot at the imaginary mobster? Sam’s meningitis symptoms will soon worsen. GH fans know she’s pretty bad off when she turned to Julian Jerome (William deVry) for help dealing with Sonny. Even Sam admitted that turning to her dad was a low point.
It sounded for a moment like Sam would ask Julian to get rid of Sonny for her, but then hallucination Sonny goaded her into taking care of it herself on the Wednesday, July 13 episode of General Hospital . The following week, Sam confronts Sonny, and that means she will not have shot him by then (if the rumored shooting ever occurs). Nathan Varni might have been teasing fans in his interview ; GH has been known to show events in promos that never happen, so it’s unconfirmed at this point.

Scout gets sick, too
Next week, General Hospital spoilers from the soap magazines reveal that on Wednesday, July 26, Jason finally figures out matters with his family are serious. The soap mags say Jason senses that something is terribly wrong. Then on Thursday, July 27, GH spoilers confirm that Dr. Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) is worried about Scout’s health. The theory of Sam having bacterial meningitis makes perfect sense because she gave birth in terribly unsterile conditions while injured.
Injury and germs can cause meningitis, and Sam was exposed to both while spread-eagled in a culvert giving birth and bleeding out on the ground. It was a recipe for disaster. Not only that, but the CDC says infants are at higher risk for bacterial meningitis. Giving birth is a medical procedure not meant to take place in a filthy circumstance where there might have been any number of contaminants there to sicken Sam. Plus, Sam might have exposed Scout while caring for or nursing her little girl.

Sam’s delusions out of control
General Hospital spoilers from Soap Central promise that next week, Sonny gets an alarming message. It seems that vengeful mobster Garvey is back in town. The Puerto Rican cops either let him go or he escaped and he’s in Port Charles hunting down Sonny. Since Garvey’s quest for revenge led to Jason’s shooting, Sam will flip out when she learns this. Her Sonny hallucination told her that Sonny being around Jason puts her family at risk, and imaginary Sonny is right.
The following week, soap magazine GH spoilers say Sam’s delusions lead to a tragic act. The tragedy might be the shooting Varni teased. That same day, Griffin becomes concerned about Scout’s health. How far will Sam spiral before someone realizes something is making her act out? The primary obstacle in diagnosing Sam properly is her lying to doctors and loved ones about her symptoms. That’s a Catch-22 since her symptoms are making her lie about her symptoms.

Will Finn and Griffin save Sam?
You might remember back in early May, from General Hospital recaps , that Sam was worried about Scout running a fever and took her to GH . Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) had a doctor check her over, but they weren’t looking for anything exotic like meningitis, and Scout was given a clean bill of health. New GH spoilers promise that both Sam and Scout are sick. Once Scout is diagnosed, that might lead the GH doctors to figure out that Sam has the same illness.
Other General Hospital spoilers predict Griffin and Dr. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) will be tasked with figuring out what is wrong with mother and child. Finn is good to have on hand since he specializes in infectious disease. Remember, Finn figured out that Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) had brain worms and was cured. Let’s hope that Finn and Griffin can sort this out and save Sam from herself and also save Scout from a serious illness.
