Four years after the late Glee tragically passed away from of a toxic combination of heroin and alcohol on July 13, 2013, fans have been taking to social media to remember Monteith with a flurry of personal photos and messages as they continue to mourn.

“Remember him with joy, not pain. Remember him with smiles, not tears. Remember him as a hero, not a fallen soul. #4yearswithoutCory,” Monteith fan @corymoansteith tweeted alongside a GIF of the star on stage during the “Glee Live Tour” in 2011.
“#4yearswithoutcory my heart still breaks every time I think about it,” Twitter user @lovechristi2n tweeted of Cory’s sad passing. “He was a talented actor & singer. Forever missed.”
“Four years without you, Still seems unreal. Love you, QB #5 #4yearswithoutcory,” @JMaslowMission wrote on the social media site as thousands of fans paid tribute to the talented actor.

Iqbal Theba, who’s best known for playing Principal Figgins on Glee, tweeted, “We miss you #TheQuarterback” with a heart emoji, using the “Quarterback” nickname Monteith’s co-stars gave him.
Lea Michele, who played Rachel Berry on the Fox show, has yet to acknowledge the actor’s passing on her social media accounts but has always shared a personal photo of the star to commemorate the sad day in the past.
Lea and Cory dated for a year and a half and were still together as a couple at the time of his death.
But while Michele hasn’t publicly acknowledged the tragic anniversary online just yet, Daily Mail published photos of the singer and actress doing a little shopping in Los Angeles on July 12 where she appeared to be in good spirits as she smiled for awaiting photographers.
Though it’s not clear if Lea has plans to share a message or photo in memory of her late boyfriend today, fans have already opted to also pay tribute to their romance that was tragically cut so short when remembering Cory online.
“Death can’t stop true love,” Glee fan @ParrillaLovatoo tweeted alongside a compilation of black and white clips showing Monteith and Michele together before Cory’s tragic death four years ago. “We will always miss you and we still love you. #4yearswithoutcory.”
Michele and Monteith were said to be pretty serious with their relationship before his sudden passing in 2013 which Lea discussed in a candid interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show just months after his death.
Since then, Lea has been a little more reserved when it comes to publicly speaking about her late boyfriend in interviews, though she has continued to remember Monteith by getting several tattoos in his memory.
