‘Supernatural’ Season 13 Filming Begins: Learn Everything That Is Known So Far [Spoilers]
Supernatural Season 13 has a premiere date of October 12 and according to social media posts from the actors, filming has begun. What is known so far about the upcoming episodes? Will The CW series have crossovers with any other television shows? What about Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith)? Will she return or is she gone forever?
Possible spoilers are ahead. If you do not want to know any information about what to expect, then stop reading.
On July 7, co-executive producer Jim Michaels went to Twitter to announce that tech surveys for the Supernatural Season 13 premiere were underway. The dark, forbidden, Twilight Zone-esque poster revealed the first episode was written by showrunner Andrew Dabb. No title for the premiere episode was released, at least not yet.
As for the cast, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki will continue to play Dean and Sam Winchester. Misha Collins, who portrays Castiel, died in the Season 12 finale. However, the actor tweeted shortly after the episode aired that there is a future for him. This seemed to imply that Castiel will be in Supernatural Season 13. However, don’t expect to see Mark Shepperd reprise the role of Crowley. He also died in the last episode, but the actor has repeated over and over that he is not coming back to The CW series.
When it comes to Mary Winchester, nobody is sure if she will be seen again or not. As Mary went toward Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino), they both fell into an alternate universe. On Instagram, Samantha Smith thanked fans, the cast, and crew for a “mind-blowing” Season 12.
There are rumors that Smith might join the cast of Supernatural‘s upcoming spinoff, Wayward Sisters. However, that has not been confirmed. As of right now, it is just wishful thinking.

A few months ago, it was revealed that Supernatural Season 13 would feature a Scooby-Doo crossover episode. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Sam and Dean Winchester will be animated, just like Scooby-Doo, in the episode. It was accidentally revealed that Castiel would make an appearance, but what they are doing there remains a mystery.
Carter Matt reported that Stephen Amell is willing to do a Supernatural/Arrow crossover episode. However, there is no word on whether that is being considered or not.
