‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 Spoilers: First Photo Teases A Reunion, Carol And Daryl Dixon Meet Again
The Walking Dead shared its first photo of Season 8, and it features two fan-favorite characters. Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride) meet again, but it doesn’t appear it is under pleasant circumstances.
TWD spoilers might be ahead. Do not continue reading unless you want to know what could happen in the zombie apocalypse television series.
The tension from the upcoming war against Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and the Saviors has everyone on edge. Although different communities are joining the fight, each has its own way of preparing for battle and dealing with the situation.
Entertainment Weekly posted the first image for The Walking Dead Season 8. In the street near some buildings, Daryl is on a motorcycle, sitting casually looking off into the distance. Standing next to him is Carol, who is wearing some protective leg and elbow gear. She looks a little like the soldiers at the Kingdom, except not as completely decked out in armor as King Ezekiel’s (Khary Payton) men. Wearing all black, she turns her head to look at what Daryl is observing.
Daryl and Carol don’t look alarmed and don’t seem to be on guard. Whatever they are seeing, it doesn’t pose much of a threat. However, the look on their faces doesn’t scream joy, either. They are worried about the outcome of the war. They seem to know that they might not make it out alive, but they have no choice but to fight for freedom.
Last season on The Walking Dead, Carol Peletier stayed at a house just outside the Kingdom. She didn’t want to be bothered and needed time to herself. Eventually, Daryl found her. Instead of telling her the truth about what Negan did, Daryl told Carol what she needed to hear at that moment in time. By the end of the season finale, she knew the truth. Despite King Ezekiel not wanting to fight, they both knew going to war was inevitable. She told him that they had to fight, and still grieving over his loss, Ezekiel nodded in agreement.
While this first look photo doesn’t reveal too much information, it does give the impression of heaviness. A lot is at stake, including their lives, their people’s lives, and even the lives of the children. They have no choice but to fight, and they have to win.
What do you think of the first look photo of The Walking Dead Season 8? Will Daryl and Carol have more scenes together when the series returns to AMC this fall?
