Gwen Stefani Teases Potential New Duet With Blake Shelton

Is a new duet from Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton coming sooner rather than later?

Stefani recently teased that she’ll be releasing new music later this year in a new interview, and it sounds like fans can potentially expect to hear a few vocals from her country star boyfriend on her new record.

Just weeks after Blake and Gwen were spotted heading into the studio together, the singer confirmed this week that she’s been working hard on new material since saying bye-bye to The Voice, at least for the upcoming season, and will be releasing her new stuff into the world pretty soon.

“I’ve been working on new music which I’m so excited to release this year,” Stefani recently told Singapore’s Weekender of what she’s been working on over the past few months.

Though she played pretty coy when it came to the specifics, the singer appeared to suggest that she could have a new duet with her man in the works by admitting that she’s been “having so much fun” getting her new music together but couldn’t give too much away about what she’s been up to just yet.

“I can’t say too much about it just yet,” she then teased, coyly adding, “but I’ve had so much fun in the studio.”

Though she didn’t mention her boyfriend by name, Stefani’s reluctance to reveal too much about her new music – which will serve as the follow-up to her 2016 album This Is What The Truth Feels Like – could suggest that the mom of three may just have a new duet with her boyfriend in the works that she’s not ready to reveal to the world right now.

Shelton teased earlier this year that he would definitely be open to recording and releasing another song with Gwen after the success of their 2016 duet single, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.”

“God, I hope so!” Blake told Entertainment Tonight just this past May when asked if he and his girlfriend would ever hit the studio and release another song together.

Shelton then appeared to be making good on his collaboration claims after photographers snapped photos of the loved-up couple heading into a recording studio together in early June.

Photos of the two making their way into a music studio in Hollywood were published by Just Jared on June 2 and sparked widespread speculation that the couple could be working on new music together.

However, while Gwen and Blake are still yet to officially confirm if they’ve been working on a top secret new duet, Stefani and Shelton have been getting very cozy on social media which suggests if they have been collaborating in the studio another love song could be on the horizon.

Gwen most recently shared an adorable photo of herself hanging out with Blake and her youngest son, Apollo, in the car on July 7, proving that the country star is very much the doting stepdad to her three boys with former husband Gavin Rossdale.

Gwen captioned the sweet modern family moment, “#summer2017 [heart] love u guys gx.”

The duet speculation comes after reports claimed that Stefani and her concert promoter Live Nation are facing a lawsuit from a fan who’s alleging that their negligence during a concert last year resorted in her breaking her leg during one of Gwen’s shows in North Carolina.
