‘Dance Moms’ Season 8 Looks To Be A Go, But Won’t Include The Original Cast
The cast of Dance Moms said their final farewells to the show after they wrapped Season 7B, with the original cast members pictured weeping and posting heartfelt messages about their years on the show. They even nicknamed themselves “The Irreplaceables,” after Abby Lee Miller told them at every turn that everyone was replaceable.
There were rumors that Season 7B, which will premiere on Lifetime on August 1, was the last time the show would air. Due to falling ratings, no one was particularly surprised at the announcement. However, one of the producers of the shows, Bryan Stinson, cryptically tweeted about an upcoming Season 8.
Bryan Stinson then posted a photo on Instagram of him and an assistant shooting something, jokingly asking when his lunch break was. Although it isn’t confirmed that it is Dance Moms he’s filming, the mothers of the girls had some pretty harsh things to say to him.
Christi Lukasiak, the mother of Chloe Lukasiak, who left the show in Season 4 and just made her return, wrote, “Whatever, no one is us.”
Kira Girard, mother to Kalani Hilliker, the oldest dancer on the team, simply wrote, “#Fail.”
Jill Vertes, Kendall Vertes’ mother, also chimed in with, “Imitation is the biggest form of flattery.”
It is, no doubt, a risky move for the Dance Moms franchise to recast with a whole new group of women and young girls. They have attempted to do spin-offs in the past that just haven’t worked out the way they anticipated. There have been ill-fated Dance Moms: Miami, Dance Mums (the British version of the show featuring a former West End actress as the dance coach), and Abby Lee’s Ultimate Dance Competition, during which several current cast members of the show were introduced to the franchise.
Currently, it is unknown if Abby Lee Miller will appear on an eighth season of Dance Moms, as she has already confirmed that cameras will be there when she surrenders tomorrow for her one-year-and-a-day jail time. It is unconfirmed if this will be for the same show or if Lifetime will be doing a special on her time in prison.
Abby Lee Miller’s original surrender date was pushed back due to “health issues.”
