Selena Gomez announced plans for new music last year, but after taking a career break due to struggles with anxiety and depression, her album was put on hold. As fans will recall, Selena Gomez released a statement to People magazine last August in which she revealed that she would be taking some time off to address her emotional struggles.
Months later, a source spoke to Us Weekly and revealed that no one was sure when Selena Gomez would return to the studio and continue work on her new album.
Throughout 2016, Selena Gomez was featured on a number of songs, including Charlie Puth’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore” and Cashmere Cat’s “Trust Nobody,” but she didn’t release any songs of her own. Then, weeks ago, Selena Gomez graced fans with her first single since her Revival album in 2015, “Bad Liar.”
As Selena Gomez continues to release new music, she has yet to confirm when her album will be shared.
In other Selena Gomez news, the 24-year-old singer and actress continues to enjoy her new romance with The Weeknd. As fans will recall, Gomez went public with the singer in January and had been spotted alongside him on numerous occasions. They even made their red carpet debut months ago at the Met Gala in New York City.
