Current WWE Superstar Reportedly Appears At Impact Wrestling Event Wearing A Mask

Alberto Del Rio is currently signed to a contract with GFW Impact Wrestling and competed in the main event at Slammiversary last weekend under the name Alberto El Patron. As most people know, Del Rio is engaged to WWE superstar Paige, who has been out of action since last July due to both suspensions and injuries.

Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that it appears that Paige reportedly showed up at Slammiversary and sat in the front row to watch her fiance unify the GFW and Impact Wrestling world titles by beating Bobby Lashley.

While it is against the WWE contract that Paige is working under to appear on television for rival wrestling companies, Paige allegedly wore a mask to hide her identity. To show support for Alberto Del Rio, the mask she wore was that of Lucha Libre superstar Dos Caras — the father of Alberto Del Rio.

Photos showed up on Twitter of the masked superstar sitting in the front row with the crowd watching the match. In other evidence, it turns out there was another photo (this one since deleted from Twitter) that showed the masked woman wearing an Impact Wrestling visitor badge with Paige’s real name — Saraya Bevis — printed on it.

The WWE takes these things seriously, but since the photo of the badge was deleted, all that they have is hearsay when it comes to proving whether or not the woman in the mask was Paige.

In 2008, there was a tag team in the WWE called The Highlanders. In March 2008, one member of the team named Robbie paid for tickets and went to watch an Impact Wrestling live television taping. The cameras caught him in the crowd and Impact Wrestling showed him on television watching the show. The WWE immediately called him on his cell phone and ordered him to leave the event. The WWE then released The Highlanders in August.

When interviewed about the WWE firing him, Robbie told Slam Sports that he wasn’t happy in the WWE and might have attended the live Impact Wrestling show in order to get fired from the company and released from his contract.

Paige was suspended twice in 2016 and both she and her father claimed that the drugs in her system were doctor-prescribed. Paige then ignored the suggestions of WWE doctors who recommended she forego surgery and instead had a procedure done to eliminate the pain she was living in. After this, Alberto Del Rio did an interview where he said the WWE had Paige tied up for a long time with her current contract.

Alberto Del Rio has signed a contract to work with Impact Wrestling and is now their world champion. There is no telling when Paige will make her return to the WWE if she does at all after this recent Impact Wrestling stunt.
