Rumer Willis Tackles Another Major Milestone: ‘I Am Really Proud Of Myself’

For Rumer Willis, her 2015 Dancing with the Stars appearance was an opportunity to reinvent herself and prove that the Willis talent gene was passed down to Bruce’s daughters. Now, Rumer is again reinventing herself with a new personal accomplishment and one which was not easily won. Ms. Willis is celebrating six months of sobriety.

Rumer Willis Hints At A Private Substance Abuse Battle

E! News reports that Rumer has achieved a new feather in her cap, but this one has little to do with her career as an entertainer. Instead, the daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis has shared that she has been sober for six months.

If you weren’t aware that Rumer had a substance abuse problem, know that you’re not alone. While some celebrities have been more open about their troubles with alcohol and drug addiction, Ms. Willis has gone to lengths to maintain a low profile. Where some find strength from the support of others, Rumer has fought her addiction on her own and away from the prying public.

Rumer announced the news of her sobriety anniversary on Instagram, posting a picture of herself in which she looks very much like her mother’s daughter. Sporting the long black hair so often worn by Demi Moore, Rumer smiles for the picture and looks healthy and hopeful.

Rumer Willis Knows She Has Flaws

In her Instagram post, Ms. Willis captioned a picture of herself with an honest and emotionally charged statement, according to Yahoo Style. Writing from the heart, Rumer begins her statement by acknowledging that she has made her share of mistakes in life, even though she always tries her hardest. That said, the former Dancing with the Stars champ says her imperfect past is only another reason for her to feel immense pride in her new accomplishment.

“Yesterday I celebrated 6 Months of Sobriety,” Rumer Willis captioned the picture, which was posted on Saturday.

Since sharing the news of her sobriety, Rumer has received messages of support from many of her 603,000 followers. While many congratulated Willis on her achievement, many others also commented on how good she looked in the picture.

Willis’ likeness to Demi Moore was inescapable, as several followers commented that the celebrity looked almost identical to her famous mom.
