First Look At Will And Jaden Smith In ‘After Earth’ Film
Looks like Jaden and Will Smith are heading towards another father/son film with After Earth. In what looks like to be Independence Day meets Dawn of The Dead, Jaden and Will star in the M. Night Shyamalan’s action drama After Earth.
No stranger to the extraterrestrial life, Shyamalan centers his lens on the older Smith as a legendary general, Cypher Raige, who finds himself in a bit of trouble after his spaceship crash lands on the remains of earth, putting him and his son Kitai (Jaden Smith) in the path of danger.
M. Night Shyamalan’s acapcolyptic film can be seen via its first trailer, giving a look for what’s being described as a Avatar-esque action. The elder Smith, who usually dominates all of the films he’s in with his own unique foot-print is handing the baton to his son Jaden Smith, as the younger Smith is said to take the bulk of the film, and carry on the voyage.
In a synopsis from Comingsoon.net, the site goes into detail about After Earth:
“With Cypher critically injured, Kitai must embark on a perilous journey to signal for help, facing uncharted terrain, evolved animal species that now rule the planet, and an unstoppable alien creature that escaped during the crash. Father and son must learn to work together and trust one another if they want any chance of returning home.”
The M. Night Shyamalan film will hit theaters on June 7, 2013 from Sony Pictures. Check out the first trailer for After Earth starring Will and Jaden Smith below.
