LeAnn Rimes Breaks Down Over Eddie Cibrian Affair And Her Failed First Marriage

LeAnn Rimes is still having trouble getting over her failed first marriage, which came crashing to an end after she had an affair with the then-married Eddie Cibrian.

In an interview with E! News correspondent Giuliana Rancic, Rimes broke down into tears when talking about how her first marriage fell apart and what role her affair with Cibrian played in the end of her seven-year marriage to Dean Sheremet.

The 30-year-old singer said her 2009 affair with Eddie Cibrian came during the time of an already failing marriage, but she still anguished over the decision to end things with Sheremet.

“Why act on it when you’re both married and you both have families?” Rancic asked Rimes, who met Cibrian while shooting the Lifetime movie Northern Lights.

“That is a huge question. I never, ever in my heart want to hurt anyone,” Rimes replied. “But … I don’t think anything can separate anything that’s super-connected. You might have had so many wonderful things with each other’s spouses in your relationship, but something along the way broke that,” she continues. “You can’t break what’s broken already.”

LeAnn Rimes then broke down and started crying, saying that her decision to end her marriage was extremely difficult, The Huffington Post noted.

“No one will ever understand how much thought and hurt, even towards each other, were put into our decision.”

LeAnn Rimes is still having difficulties with Cibrian’s ex-wife, Brandi Glanville. When Rimes tweeted last week referring to Glanville’s sons as “her boys,” Glanville responded negatively. She later blasted LeAnn Rimes for letting her son get into a laxative pill the singer kept in her purse, making the young boy sick.
