Rob Lowe Wants To Play Caitlyn Jenner In New Biopic?

Rob Lowe is reportedly ready to tackle a new kind of role. The actor allegedly wants to play real-life Olympic athlete-turned-transgender activist, Caitlyn Jenner. Lowe is said to want to portray Cait in a movie adaptation of Jenner’s book, The Secrets of My Life.

According to OK! Magazine, not only does Rob Lowe want to play Caitlyn Jenner on the big screen, but he is also said to be Cait’s first choice for the role if the book should be adapted. Lowe has reportedly been looking for a big role to get him noticed and possibly earn him some awards in the process, and he’s said to believe that playing Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner is the way to go.

“Rob’s been hunting for an awards-caliber movie part. This would be a game-changer for him.”

Caitlyn is so on board with the possibility of Rob Lowe portraying her on screen that she reportedly even sent the actor an advanced copy of her book to see what he thought about her story. Sources claim that Jenner wants Lowe to play both Bruce and Caitlyn, and now the actor is lobbying to have a film made so he can tackle the role.

“They’ve met up a few times to discuss it. She thinks he’s got what it takes to play both her and her former self, Bruce — and now Rob’s throwing his weight behind the project as well.”

Meanwhile, Caitlyn Jenner’s controversial story is said to be causing a rift between herself and her former family, the Kardashians. Cait’s memoir didn’t sit well with many members of the family, including Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian, who believe that she didn’t divulge accurate and/or proper details about her life with the family and painted them in a negative light. Kim told Ellen DeGeneres that she felt the book was “unfair” and not truthful.

The Kardashians’ backlash over Caitlyn Jenner’s book was so intense that fans would be interested to see how they felt over the memoir being made into a movie. Of course, they would all likely appear as characters in the movie, especially Caitlyn’s former wife of 20 years, Kris Jenner, who has been the most hurt by Cait’s book and recent interviews.
