It has seemed odd that WWE had only five matches listed for this weekend’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view, but a few of them are expected to be rather lengthy. With three title bouts and two MITB ladder matches, those five bouts could take up a lot of time, but three full hours? It’s hard to believe this is going to be a full PPV, and that is likely why WWE added one more match to the final card.
The two MITB ladder matches are going to take up the majority of the show, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see both of them go for a combined length of 60 to 75 minutes. Even if that ends up happening, there are still only three more bouts on the card, and they’re not going to fill up nearly enough time to get to 180 minutes.
Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton will likely get 20 to 25 minutes in the main event, but that will won’t take up a ton of time.
Wrestling Inc. learned that the company officially added a sixth match to the Money in the Bank card on Friday, but it won’t be on the main show. WWE added an extra match, but for some reason, it’s going to be on the MITB Kickoff.

Fans saw that Zack Ryder returned this week on SmackDown Live and reunited with Mojo Rawley, his partner in The Hype Bros. They didn’t really have much to do or say on Tuesday night, but they were thrilled to be back together and see Ryder back after being out for seven months with a knee injury.
It is going to be great to see The Hype Bros back in action, but why not have the match on the main card? They’re going to need to fill some time with only five MITB matches made official, but WWE may have something else planned.
As of Friday afternoon, the updated and final card for Money in the Bank is as follows.
- WWE Championship: Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Randy Orton
- MITB Ladder Match: Baron Corbin vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles vs. Sami Zayn vs. Dolph Ziggler
- MITB Women’s Ladder Match: Natalya vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch vs. Tamina Snuka vs. Carmella
- SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Usos (c) vs. The New Day
- SmackDown Women’s Championship: Naomi (c) vs. Lana
- Kickoff Match: The Hype Bros vs. The Colons
Money in the Bank is one of those pay-per-view events that focuses on a huge gimmick more than the individual matches, which is understandable in this situation. The winner of the ladder match will have a shot at a WWE world title for the course of the next year, and this time around, there are two opportunities. Still, it’s so strange to have only five matches on the entire card, and adding The Hype Bros vs. The Colons to the Kickoff doesn’t make much sense.
