Mama June’s Daughters Honey Boo Boo And Pumpkin To Get Their Own Weight Loss Show, Says New Report
Mama June’s daughters, Honey Boo Boo (Alana) and Pumpkin (Lauryn), will be getting their own weight loss show!
As In Touch Weekly reports, Mama June’s recent show, Mama June: From Not to Hot, was a raging success by every measure. Documenting Mama June’s (real name: June Shannon) weight loss journey from nearly 450 pounds to a Size 4, the show was a ratings smash. Besides reviving Mama June’s failing reality TV career, the show also revealed that Mama June had made a full transformation from a slovenly, depressed, defeated woman to a slim, trim, and empowered woman. Thanks to therapy, follow-up care, and the help of her friends and family, June put her weight issues and her personal issues behind her.
However, fans who have followed Mama June and her family from their earliest days on reality TV, from Toddlers & Tiaras and, later, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, know that the 37-year-old family matriarch isn’t the only member of the family with weight issues. All four of her daughters (the two oldest of whom have moved out of the house and put reality TV behind them) have also had their own issues with their weight.

Even when From Not To Hot was still on the air earlier this year, Mama June hinted that her two daughters still at home, Pumpkin and Honey Boo Boo, could stand to take off some weight.

Now, according to an unsubstantiated report, WEtv is considering a new show, this time focusing on the girls losing weight.
It’s a tricky business, talking to kids about their weight, especially when they’re teenagers, like Lauryn, or coming up on adolescence, like Alana. As a parent, you want them to have a positive body image, but at the same time, you want them to be healthy.
Fortunately, Mama June’s daughters are on board with losing weight and having it documented for the TV cameras; at least, according to an anonymous insider source.
“The girls are up for it, because the show will be all about them, and they’ll have their own big paydays.”
As of this writing, it’s not clear when production will begin on Mama June’s daughters’ spinoff show, nor when (or even if) it will air.
