Los Angeles, CA – The Notorious B.I.G. Autopsy Report has the family of slain rapper Christopher Wallace wanting more facts from police at the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). As previously reported by The Inquistir , the B.I.G autopsy report was released to the public. The report includes details such as three out of four bullets not being fatal, but no new clues to the 15 year mystery. It’s unclear whether the release was prompted by new information or whether detectives are discovering new clues.
“Investigators decided to release the autopsy to stimulate new interest in the case and hopefully produce new leads,” said LAPD Lieutenant Andrew Neiman. The family of the rapper has long been at odds with the LAPD and they wish authorities would release more information about their homicide investigation.
“What legitimate lead could be stimulated by releasing an autopsy that says ‘Mr. Wallace was shot,’ when everyone knows that?” said Perry Sanders Jr., a civil rights attorney who represents Wallace’s mother and other relatives. “Why don’t they release some of the clues they have?”
Notorious B.I.G., whose real name was Christopher George Latore Wallace, died in March 1997 when he was shot four times during a drive-by shooting on Wilshire Boulevard.Wallace had been sitting in the front passenger seat of a Chevrolet Suburban. The shooting of Notorious B.I.G. followed the death of fellow rapper Tupac Shakur. Various theories have linked the two homicides, because the two rapper’s gangs were at odds at the time, but the case has never led to an arrest or a suspect.
The FBI opened its own case after Christopher Wallace’s family accused the LAPD of covering up how the rapper actually died. LAPD officials last year said they exhaustively searched for answers, so this information release might be their way of fishing for more intel.
The unexpected release of the B.I.G. autopsy report after all this time caught the rapper’s relatives off guard. Family members said they had hoped the release of the B.I.G. autopsy report would be followed by news that the case had been solved, but were disheartened when this was not the case. What is your own theory for why and how Notorious B.I.G. was killed?
