Nicole Kidman Dishes On Her Birthday Plans With ‘Divine’ Hubby Keith Urban

Coming off of the success of Big Little Lies, Nicole Kidman debuted four projects at Cannes Film Festival, but even that can’t compare with another milestone in her life. This time, however, Nicole is celebrating an achievement of another kind: her 50th birthday. As Ms. Kidman prepares for the big day, she shares with fans just how that day will be spent and, yes, Keith Urban figures prominently in those plans.

Nicole Kidman Keeps Her Birthday Wishes Simple

Nicole may be a big Hollywood A-lister, but, as the actress tells People, she wants to keep things simple and fairly basic for her big birthday. As hard as it may be for her fans to believe, Ms, Kidman is about to turn 50-years-old and a lifetime as a Hollywood actress has helped the Big Little Lies actress appreciate those simpler things about life. There will be no parties or televised fanfare.

Instead, Kidman plans to spend her birthday with her family.

“[I want] to hang with my divine husband and my kids and my sister,” said Nicole.

The actress, who will next be seen on the big screen in Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled, revealed that she had already traveled to her native country of Australia to visit more family. While there, Nicole celebrated her birthday early with her mother, because she knew the family matriarch was too old to travel such a great distance.

Ms. Kidman added that her sister would be bringing along her six children for the birthday celebration, so Kidman and Keith will have a full house. Aside from the seven house guests, Nicole and Mr. Urban will be joined by their own daughters, 6-year-old Faith Margaret Kidman Urban and 8-year-old Sunday Rose Kidman Urban.

Nicole Kidman Doesn’t Need Big Parties

While keeping things “low key,” Nicole tells Entertainment Tonight that she feels no shame in turning 50-years-old. In fact, the actress views it as another happy milestone and not something to dread at all. She says she embraces every aspect of her life, because, looking back at the past five decades, Nicole realizes that she has lived a “blessed” life.

While spending her special day with husband Keith Urban and their children is certainly a highlight, Kidman reveals that she’s going to be taking a break to enjoy life for quite some time. The Beguiled actress reveals that she has no career plans through the summer and hopes to spend the hottest months of the year embracing her life.

“I’ve got the whole summer off, so I’m just kind of relaxing,” says Ms. Kidman.

Nicole turns 50 on June 20.

Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled, starring Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, and Elle Fanning, opens in theaters on June 30 with limited New York and Los Angeles releases on June 23.
