Miley Cyrus And Converse Team Up To Release Pride Sneakers
Miley Cyrus has partnered with Converse to launch a new line of sneakers called Pride. The new Pride shoes by Converse that Miley Cyrus will be promoting has the classic Converse style.
These Converse shoes are not only functional and stylish, but will also help to raise funds for Miley Cyrus’ Happy Hippie Foundation and the It Gets Better Project, which was founded by journalist Dan Savage and his husband, Terrie Miller. According to Paper, all of the net profits from the Pride sneakers will be donated to one of the two foundations.
Miley Cyrus has been a huge supporter of the LGBTQ community. She founded the Happy Hippie Foundation as a way to combat injustices that are experienced by LGBTQ youth, as well as those who are homeless or otherwise vulnerable. She aligns herself with the community in a variety of ways such as Pride parades, concerts, and performances.
In 2015, Miley Cyrus gave one of her most eye-catching performances of her career. Not only did she blow the minds of her fans with her usual Miley-ness, but she was also accompanied on stage by contestants of RuPaul’s Drag Race. This was the same performance where she wore that crazy outfit with the eye covering her right breast. Surrounded by drag queens, Miley Cyrus sang about smoking pot and loving peace to a stunned audience.
The Happy Hippie Foundation encourages everyone to take a stand because change can only come when people stand together. They often use the hashtag #StrongerTogether to reinforce the idea of creating a stronger America.
The It Gets Better Project was created by Dan Savage and Terrie Miller to help LGBTQ young people and to inspire the changes that are needed to make the world a better place for them. They raise awareness and raise funds through events and social media.
The Converse Pride sneakers come in a variety of styles, but people can also design their own style on the Converse website. You can choose from high tops or low tops and then add your own style with different designs for the tongue, the laces, the back of the sneaker, and other elements. Pride T-shirts and posters are also available.
What do you think of the partnership between Miley Cyrus and Converse to create the Pride sneakers? Will you be ordering a pair to show your pride?
