Cameron Diaz Gushes Over Husband Benji Madden, Are They Ready For Kids?
Cameron Diaz spoke about her marriage to Benji Madden during an appearance at Goop’s Wellness Summit on Saturday, June 10.
According to a new report, the 44-year-old actress spoke about the dynamic of her relationship with the 38-year-old Good Charlotte rocker, revealing that while their marriage works well, they are quite different from one another.
“We are both just weird enough for each other,” she explained, according to a report by Us Weekly on June 12. “We women are objectified so much. Somehow my husband has just been able to kind of show me what it’s like not to have that be a part of a relationship, and being an equal.”
Cameron Diaz began dating Benji Madden after being introduced to the musician by his sister-in-law, Nicole Richie, who is married to Benji’s twin brother Joel Madden. Seven months later, after being engaged for just 17 days, they tied the knot in Beverly Hills, California.
For years, Diaz and Richie have been friends, and now that their husbands are twin brothers, they spend even more time with one another. In fact, the two women were together on Saturday during Goop’s Wellness Summit and posed for photos with one another and several other women at the event.
Cameron Diaz went on to say that Benji Madden is much more than her husband, he’s also her partner in life and “in everything.”
“Talk about two very different people! We are so different from one another, but we share the same values,” she explained.
As for their future, rumors have been swirling for years regarding when Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden will start a family. Although the actress told Esquire magazine in 2014 that she has never been drawn to being a mother, a source told People magazine last year that Diaz had since changed her tune. As an insider revealed to the magazine, Diaz is super happy in her marriage to Madden and would love to become a mom.
While Benji Madden doesn’t talk about his wife frequently in public, he did share a heartfelt post for the actress months ago when she released The Longevity Book. In his post, Madden labeled Cameron Diaz as “beautiful” and “fearless” and said that she set out to encourage all women with the publication.
“I’m so proud my best friend, my heart, and the most bad a** chick I know,” he added.
