Elle Macpherson Splits From Billionaire Husband, Moves Out Of $26 Million House
Apparently, even a billionaire husband couldn’t make Elle Macpherson happy. The 53-year-old Australian supermodel and her husband of four years, Jeffrey Soffer, split on Monday.
A source close to Soffer confirmed to People magazine that Elle Macpherson and the billionaire called it quits, but neither the supermodel nor Soffer have stated the reason for their split. Whatever it is, Macpherson has to move out of their luxury $26 million Florida house.
It’s been a rather tumultuous relationship for Elle Macpherson and Soffer, who dated for two years before their split in March 2012. Then the duo got back together after the billionaire real estate developer got injured in a crash while flying his helicopter in the Bahamas in 2012.
Less than a year afterward, Elle Macpherson and Soffer got engaged and tied the knot in July 2013. Their wedding had an intimate setting as the ceremony was held for only 15 guests – their dearest friends and closest family members.
Elle Macpherson, who goes by the nickname “The Body,” and Soffer share no kids together, although the billionaire was a step-father for two of the supermodel’s sons, 14-year-old Aurelius and 19-year-old Arpad, from her ex-fiancé, Arpad Busson.
Elle Macpherson, who’s best known for her hosting gig on the Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model, had to move out of Soffer’s luxury $26 million house at Indian Creek in Miami with her kids in the wake of their split.
And the supermodel is now reportedly looking for her own house in Miami. Although there are apparently no plans to reconcile and get back together, their split was amicable, and the former lovebirds are “just friends” now, according to a source cited by Page Six.
Elle Macpherson is no stranger to getting her heart shattered to pieces as Soffer becomes the latest unfortunate lover in the supermodel’s extensive string of failed romances.
Elle Macpherson was previously married to photographer Gilles Bensimon and has two sons from her romance with ex-fiancé Arpad Busson. The supermodel also reportedly had an affair with Billy Joel before he tied the knot with Christie Brinkley.
Soffer is also no stranger to dating celebrities, as the billionaire has been linked to Gwyneth Paltrow and was even said to be the reason for the actress’s divorce from ex-husband Chris Martin in 2014.
Paltrow denied rumors she had an affair with Elle Macpherson’s husband, but multiple sources cited in the media had seen the actress staying at the real estate mogul’s hotel quite a few times.
The split from Soffer must have been painful for Elle Macpherson not only because it’s her second ruined marriage, but also because she has to move out of the billionaire’s house in Miami that occupies nearly 25,600 square feet, according to the Daily Mail.
In addition to stunning waterfront views, which Elle Macpherson has posted on Instagram on several occasions in the past, the house also features a swimming pool in the backyard and a huge golf course.
The Indian Creek palace is built in the Mediterranean-style and is surrounded by palm trees and shrubbery, which add extra privacy to the luxury palace.
The $26 million house also boasts a dock just a few meters from the house, which definitely has a beautiful scenery during sunset. The house itself features 11 separate bathrooms that have allowed Elle Macpherson to never get bored of soaking in hot tubs.
But Elle Macpherson probably never really felt welcome there, as the house was actually built for Soffer’s first wife, Kimberly. The billionaire purchased the palace back in 2000, and it’s now worth four times what he paid for it 17 years ago.
