‘Southern Charm’ Fake? Star Danni Baird Reveals Scenes Were ‘Cut And Pasted’
Danni Baird just dropped a huge bombshell about Southern Charm. Baird isn’t part of the main cast of the show, but she recently revealed that producers cut and pasted a scene of hers this season. Just how fake is Southern Charm?
Radar Online reports that Baird slammed the show during an interview on the Reality Life with Kate Casey podcast. Baird admitted that she only came back to support her good friend, Kathryn Dennis, who recently completed a stint in rehab. She also revealed that she filmed her scenes during the last month of production and producers moved those clips to the beginning of the season.
“That is a big part of as to why I did come back this season. Because I knew that she needed a positive force,” Baird shared on Dennis struggles with substance abuse. “I signed on probably the last month of filming. The scene of Kathryn of I – it was the first or second episode – was cut and pasted I think.”
According to Reality Tea, Baird also dished on Dennis’ ex-husband Thomas Ravenel and called him a good father. She also admitted that she started filming for the current season before she signed an official contract with producers. “I had filmed a couple things before I signed my contract,” she stated. “You’ll see more of me the last section of the season.”
Dennis and Ravenel are currently in the midst of a heated custody battle. The pair share two children together: Kensie, 3, and St. Julien, 1. Ravenel currently enjoys full custody of the kids and Dennis is doing her best to change that – at least that’s what Southern Charm wants you to think.
In addition to the questionable editing, Radar Online reports that portions of Ravenel and Dennis’ lives were faked for the cameras. In fact, the two didn’t even live in Charleston, South Carolina during the first season of Southern Charm, even though the series made it look like they did. Instead, the couple settled down in Edisto Island after moving to the area from Florida. They only moved to Charleston to film Season 2.
“During their time living in Edisto and Charlotte Street, Thomas would often ask Kathryn to leave,” Dennis’ mother, Allison, revealed in court documents. “Kathryn would have me come pick up her and her daughter and they would stay with me and my husband. This became a regular occurrence during Season 2 filming.”
Allison added that her daughter lived with her until the fall of 2015 when she moved to Mt. Pleasant. “We would not allow Southern Charm to film at our house so Kathryn moved … shortly before her son’s birth,” she stated.
Meanwhile, according to Radar Online, Dennis’ custody battle with Ravenel has gotten worse over the past few months. Things were starting to look up for the couple after Dennis finished rehab. On a recent episode of Southern Charm, she visited St. Julien for his first birthday and managed a few smiles for Ravenel. Sadly, it sounds like things took a turn for the worse after the party.
Court records reveal that Dennis recently accused Ravenel of alienating her from the rest of the family. She also thought Ravenel was sleeping with the children’s nanny and hopes the court will grant her joint custody as a result of his unstable lifestyle.
Ravenel has not said anything about the rumors surrounding his heated custody battle with Dennis. We can only hope that the two can work things out for their children’s sake.
Southern Charm producers have not commented on Baird’s recent revelations. New episodes air Monday nights on Bravo.
