Mariah Carey Drinking Problem Causing Star’s Bad Behavior?
It’s difficult to say what the romantic situation is on any given day for superstar songstress Mariah Carey. The star has been connected to a number of men over the past year, including her former beau, billionaire James Packer, who dumped her before their wedding, and her own ex-husband, America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon. Additionally, Carey has been tied to her 34-year-old backup dancer, Bryan Tanaka.
Initially, there were questions as to the legitimacy of the romance between Mariah and her dancer. Many suggested it was simply a publicity stunt that began on Mariah’s World to present Carey as easily moving forward in love and career as opposed to being a down-and-out diva after her split from Packer. Even Mariah’s ex-husband Nick Cannon did not believe the relationship was the real deal. The star made his own opinion very well known when he visited Howard Stern on his radio show, Us Weekly shared.
“First of all, I think the whole reality show is fake. I’m a producer, so I know how [it works]. Like, you can’t have a well-lit private conversation. Like, that s**t doesn’t happen. I don’t buy none of that s**t. I don’t even get into it. It feels like they wrote the story. That s**t is like a soap opera.”
Yet, Mariah and Bryan carried on reportedly for a couple months before the singer called it off. Life & Style relays, however, how Mariah and Bryan seem to have rekindled things recently and how the relationship is rumored to be bringing out the star’s party side.
“Just weeks after dumping backup dancer Bryan Tanaka over his gold-digging tendencies, Mariah Carey is not only back with the 34-year-old, but has been partying non-stop since their reconciliation.’Her friends fear she is out of control and having a crisis,’ an insider tells Life & Style. ‘She’s lashing out at loved ones, drinking, and looking for love with the wrong men!'”
The reported source went on to state that Carey’s drinking and partying often equates to bad behavior, including her diva demands becoming increasingly more tough to take for those around her, adding when the 48-year-old is drinking, “her inner diva comes out more than usual. [She] will stand in front of the mirror having assistants rearrange lighting until she’s happy with what she sees.”

After two failed marriages and one that almost happened and which friends were worried would have resulted in a disaster, Carey’s amigos are concerned about decisions the star is making and is considering for the near future.
The insider states, “Her friends are worried she could end up in a messy divorce.”

Even Cannon has said in the past that Mariah can be very demanding and it is rumored that when the superstar is drinking she goes a little too far. Carey and Cannon separated in late 2014, and their divorce was finalized in late 2016. All the while the former A-list couple have remained great friends and co-parent as a team. After the break between Carey and Tanaka, rumors were swirling that the singer and talk show host were trying to rekindle things.
The two were spotted out to dinner on a number of occasions and were spending a good deal of time together. Despite Nick stating that he and Mariah will always be “official,” the pair are said to have not been attempting to get back together. Cannon will always have love for the mother of his two eldest children, twins Moroccan and Monroe. The publication shared some thoughts from Cannon regarding Carey and their relationship.
“I love Mariah. I’ll never stop loving her. She gave me two, amazing beautiful gifts. We talk every day.”
