‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Maurice Benard Reunites With A Familiar Face

General Hospital spoilers are in, but it’s not what you think. Fan-favorite actor Maurice Benard is hanging out with a familiar Port Charles face. Now, it’s not unusual to hang out with a co-star, but this one, in particular, is someone who left the show, which broke a lot of General Hospital fans’ hearts. That’s right, Maurice is hanging with his ex “son.”

As General Hospital fans know, actor Bryan Craig left the show to pursue other interests. However, there were rumors that Craig, who played Sonny’s son, Morgan Corinthos, had plans to return. There was another theory that Morgan could get a “different face,” which meant the role might be recast. It was originally written that Morgan had died in a car bombing, but rumors insisted that he was never killed, just horribly disfigured.

We know for sure that he’s not dead but does Maurice Benard’s recent hangout have anything to do with the storyline? Not exactly.

General Hospital spoilers via Celeb Dirty Laundry, reveals that Maurice and Bryan were hanging out for some serious movie prep. It looks like Craig scored a role outside of the soap franchise, and his TV papa is helping him out with his training. A photo was released of the two sparring in the gym together, but Craig quickly deleted it from his social media due to the attention it got from General Hospital fans.

Since Craig left General Hospital, it hasn’t been easy for the actor to branch out of the soap world. In 2016, he was cast in a BMX movie, but all the details regarding that project were left a secret. Not much has been added to Ride’s IMDB page.

Just as he was vocal about General Hospital spoilers, Craig has also been very vocal about his unhappiness with the whole process of auditioning. Celeb Dirty Laundry stated that the actor has “lashed out” at “industry contacts” on Twitter despite never revealing who he was talking about. The actor often deletes these tweets that he sends out in the heat of the moment. But on the bright side, it looks like he has a ton of support and having someone like Maurice Benard on his side means something. The veteran actor has been in the game for decades and surely has imparted some wisdom to the young actor.

It begs the question why he would leave General Hospital when it seemed like a real solid gig?

In a previous General Hospital spoilers post, when news of his exit was released, Bryan Craig sent out a statement about the decision to depart the role of Morgan Corinthos.

“It’s been an amazing journey, but I feel like the time is right for me to say goodbye to GENERAL HOSPITAL and Morgan Corinthos. This was not an easy decision and I am extremely grateful to ABC, [Executive Producer] Frank Valentini and the entire GH cast and crew for the opportunity and their unyielding support. To the wonderful fans who have embraced and loved Morgan as one of their own, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Although the actor did state he would be open to returning every once in a while, it seems like, for now, he’s really focused on getting into film. At least, General Hospital fans can rest easy that his “father” will always have his back.
