What To Expect From ‘The Sims’ At The 2017 EA Play FanFest

The coming 2017 EA Play FanFest is just around the corner, and fans of The Sims are looking forward to what Electronic Arts (EA) might have in store for them. Excitement built up as speculation was made that a Sims 4 Pets DLC would be announced during the convention. Recently, The Sims 4 was identified as one of the titles that will be featured in this year’s EA Play FanFest. This led fans to assume that game developer Maxis might be planning to unveil some planned DLCs; most especially the anticipated Pets expansion pack.

However, a representative from The Sims recently posted on social media to clarify the speculation. SimGuruDrake recently took to Twitter to inform The Sims fans that there will be no special presentation for The Sims 4 at the 2017 EA PlayFest, even if it is listed on the roster of games for the PlayFest. According to the Sims VIP, the gaming title’s presence is meant to provide attendees with the chance to experience playing The Sims and discover its various gameplay elements, including the recently released The Sims 4: Parenthood DLC.

This isn’t discouraging Simmers, though, as they still hope for Maxis to add pets to its base game. Pets have always been a part of The Sims franchise, but the fourth installment of the popular life simulation game has yet to see some furry friends in the neighborhood.

Maxis might be silent about The Sims 4 Pets‘ development, but persistent Simmers claim that game codes pertaining to animal Sims were discovered; specifically cats and dogs. According to the Sims Community Info, a modder named TwistedMexi uncovered information pertaining to cats and dogs in The Sims 4 game files. According to the findings, the pets will be able to walk on several objects, including counters, bars, fridge, tables, and beds.

In another instance, a Slovakia retail website, brloh.sk, has listed The Sims 4: Dogs and Cats for a November 9, 2017 release. Priced at €39,99, it can only be assumed that the game is an expansion pack. The site, however, took down the listing as soon as the Sims Community Info published the existence of such a listing.

EA and Maxis have not given any hints regarding a Pets expansion pack. They might, however, showcase the upcoming mobile version of the popular life simulation game called The Sims Mobile.

The event is expected to feature over 10 game experiences from Star Wars Battlefront II, Fifa 18, Madden NFL 18, NBA Live 18, Need for Speed, Battlefield 1, new content from Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, and Titanfall 2, Madden NFL Mobile, NBA Live Mobile, and EA Sports Fifa on the Nintendo Switch. The much-awaited convention will also give the stage to performances by Nas, DJ Green Lantern, Dave East, and other surprise guests.

In the meantime, Electronic Arts will be letting its gamers have hands-on time with their popular titles during the 2017 EA Play FanFest. The convention will be broadcast around the world but will also have a live audience in Hollywood. The gaming giant has invited global community creators to participate in the EA Game Changers Creators Cave to be held at the Hollywood Palladium. This will give a chance to the creators to watch early game footage, edit content to share, and live stream in real time. Moreover, there will be a Player Fanfest, which will feature 140 hands-on gaming stations, demos, and live music.

According to EA, the convention will not only be for players attending in person but also for those who are viewing online. Real and virtual attendees will be able to experience live interviews, in-depth gameplay walkthroughs, competitions, and behind-the-scenes looks. Those who won’t be able to make it from June 10 to 12 should go to EA.com to be able to catch all the action from the 2017 EA Play FanFest starting this June 10.
