‘Days Of Our Lives’ Fans Tell New Head Writer What They Want: Reunite ‘Chabby’ And End ‘Rope’ Top The List
Days Of Our Lives fans are passionate and many don’t hesitate to use social media to communicate their likes and disappointments. Since Ron Carlivati is the new head writer, everyone wants to know what kind of changes will be made. They are also curious when his writing will be seen on television and what will happen with the fan-favorite characters. Viewers have not been shy about tweeting Carlivati to express their soap opera desires. Among the most common requests on Twitter include reuniting Chad and Abigail and ending Rafe and Hope’s relationship.
When Kate Mansi announced her exit from DOOL, fans were upset. Instead of killing the “old Abby” off, the former writers had the character start a fire, burn her face, and flee Salem. Months later, Abigail returned and actress Marci Miller was cast to play the “new Abby.”
All viewers wanted was for “Chabby” to reunite, but the relationship has been a rollercoaster because of Chad’s feelings for Gabi Hernandez. Recently, viewers became enraged when Chad and Gabi kissed on Days Of Our Lives. By looking at Ron Carlivati’s Twitter feed, fans have been busy sharing their thoughts on the storyline.
Basically, out of the hundreds of tweets to Carlivati and replies to his posts, several have to do with Chad and Abigail. Fans want them reunited and as one social media user commented, “who is this Chad? Please fix.” Many can agree that Billy Flynn’s character has changed and not in a good way. Hopefully, the new head writer can repair “Chabby” and make fans happy again.
Another topic of the tweets to Carlivati have to do with Rafe and Hope, known as “Rope.” It seems that a lot of people don’t care for the two characters together. The jury is still out on this one because there are fans who are “Rope” shippers, but others don’t sense a romantic connection between Rafe and Hope.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, executive producer Ken Corday teased DOOL summer spoilers. One of the topics had to do with the couple talking about marriage. Before getting too upset, it doesn’t sound like a wedding is going to happen, at least not in the next few months. Corday hinted that some issues would put Rafe and Hope’s wedding conversation on hold.

When it comes to Nicole Walker, fans know that Arianne Zucker is leaving Days Of Our Lives. She is expected to make her exit in fall 2017, which is when she will finish Nicole’s storyline. Viewers are disappointed that Zucker is not staying on the soap opera. A few Twitter users asked Carlivati to convince Arianne to stay. However, the actress has stated on multiple occasions that it is time for her to leave. One fan suggested that they make baby Holly belong to Eric Brady and have Nicole reconcile with the former priest. However, there are others that think Eric and Nicole don’t belong together at all.
The two things fans are excited about that have already been confirmed include the returns of Alison Sweeney and Chandler Massey. On Twitter, Carlivati shared a report from Soap Opera Digest about Sami Brady coming back to Salem. The new head writer commented, “here comes trouble…” Regarding Will Horton’s return to Days Of Our Lives, Carlivati seemed to imply that he might not really be dead. This seems to be confirmed by William Utay’s return as Dr. Rolf, who had storylines of escaping death and resurrecting the deceased. Could Will be part of a “bring back the dead” storyline?
Although fans are happy that Sami and Will are returning, they have also shared their desire for EJ DiMera to come back. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear as if James Scott is interested in reprising the role. If EJ is resurrected, then it might have to be a recast.
What do you think should happen with Chad, Abigail, Rafe, Hope, and Nicole on Days Of Our Lives? Can Ron Carlivati bring fans back to the long-running soap opera?
