Commentary | An Ellen DeGeneres ad has angered hate-group One Million Moms , again trolling the anti-gay cabal with her continued insistence on being a lesbian and existing in places like JC Penney ads, infiltrating straight society with her personable homosexualness.
Ellen DeGeneres in an ad for JC Penney is not a surprise circumstance, as the retailer has committed to their partnership with the talk-show star publicly and rejected calls to sever the relationship. One Million Moms is perhaps the most vocal and persistent opponent of Ellen’s friendship with the department store and refuses to drop the objection to her representation of JCP despite it making them look like toddlers who don’t understand the word “no.”
Or, as one YouTube commenter said of the objection to Ellen Degeneres’ new ad for JC Penney:
“THIS IS SO OFFENSIVE — Said nobody with a brain ever.”
One Million Moms and their campaign against Ellen Degeneres and her partnership with the retailer seems to encompass the sense of entitlement groups like them feel about gay people in general. DeGeneres is not engaging in any behavior at all relating to her sexual orientation nor is she promoting gay issues in the spot — she simply jokes around with some elves, and that’s that.
Still, OMM feels that having to see a gay on TV is too much for “the children,” and they fume:
“Since April, JC Penney’s has not aired Ellen DeGeneres in one of their commercials until now. A new JCP ad features Ellen and three elves. JCP has made their choice to offend a huge majority of their customers again. Christians must now vote with their wallets.”
It seems once again in relation to the Ellen DeGeneres ad and their objection, the group has failed to consider Christ’s teachings in their fervor to spread hate. While Jesus never said to impose your own morals on others, he did have some pretty clear directions on judging — ones that seemingly don’t appear in the bibles owned by One Million Moms followers and adherents.
Below is Ellen DeGeneres’ JC Penney ad for Christmas. Do you think OMM is justified in complaining about having to see a lesbian on their TV screen?
