Monica Lewinsky Found Dead In Roslindale? No, But Death Hoax Gets 6,500 Facebook Shares [Debunked]

If a person searches for Monica Lewinsky on Facebook, the top news reports as of this writing include headlines like: “BREAKING: Monica Lewinsky Found Dead In Roslindale,” which has been shared at least 857 times on Facebook. That particular article from thepremiumnews.com website claims that Monica was visiting with a high school friend when Lewinsky met with a horrible death. The same tone of an article about Monica claimed that Lewinsky was confirmed as dead via a Freedom Crossroads Correspondent Louis Leweigh who claimed a coroner confirmed Lewinsky’s death, according to anews-24.com. That publication’s article about Monica has been shared at least 961 times on Facebook.

However, the fake news seems to have begun with freedomcrossroads.us, nearly 23 hours ago, in a similarly titled article that has been shared 3,669 times on Facebook. (On the Freedom Crossroads website, the Facebook share count is up to 4,700 shares.) Therefore, the fake articles about Monica have been shared at least 6,500 times on Facebook.

The article, “BREAKING: Monica Lewinsky Found Dead In Roslindale,” has Facebook descriptions from people asking why Lewinsky’s alleged death isn’t all over the news, with some people believing the fake news and putting forth conspiracy theories attempting to link former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton with “another mysterious death.” However, it’s all a hoax, according to Lead Stories. The publication notes that the photo included in the fake news reports about Lewinsky’s death was actually taken from an article titled “Ex-NYPD cop Clarence Cash shoots wife dead, surrenders to police” via the New York Daily News.

The actual article being shared claims that Lewinsky was murdered during a robbery, and it also went on to claim that Monica never ended her affair with Mr. Clinton.

“Monica Lewinsky was having a visit with a friend from high school this week that ended in tragedy. Just moments ago, Freedom Crossroads Correspondent Louis Leweigh confirmed that the coroner just left the scene where Monica Lewinsky, who we now know never ended her affair with Clinton, was found murdered in a burglary. Police Chief Randall Getty told Leweigh: ‘Pretty cut and dry. We have a suspect we think we have on several area cameras who is a known pot addict. He’s been in and out of jail more than a dozen times for possession. We’re looking at him and we’re also considering because of the high-profile nature of the case other suspects like the Clintons.’

“When Louis asked him if the feds would take over he said that every protocol has changed for the past few months but he’s fairly certain anything that has to do with anyone named Clinton will be on the Justice Department’s radar. In this case, to not investigate would be silly.”

Going on to talk about the “pothead” that likely killed Lewinsky in the fake article about the fake robbery and Monica’s fake death, the text of the piece goes to claim that the murderer was probably paid off by someone else to kill Monica.

“The cause of death is still unknown. This is a developing story that will be updated.”
