‘The Originals’ Season 4 Finale Spoilers: Synopsis Reveals Elijah Mikaelson’s Fate

The Originals Season 4 finale is titled “The End Of Always And Forever.” It does not air on The CW network for a few more weeks, but the synopsis has been released. It reveals Elijah Mikaelson’s (Daniel Gillies) fate. The question of if Elijah can be saved has been on everyone’s mind, especially after the events that led to Elijah’s death. Find out if the character is going to be saved or if he is gone forever.

During Episode 9, Elijah Mikaelson died and Freya (Riley Voelkel) put his soul into a magical pendant. However, the pendant shattered, which also caused Elijah’s psyche to fracture. Everyone is wondering if he can be saved. Today, Spoiler TV published the Season 4 finale synopsis and it mentions his name.

“In an explosive season finale, the Mikaelsons find themselves out of options as they face the all-powerful and un-killable entity known as The Hollow. With the life of Hope (guest star Summer Fontana) at stake, Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) proposes a final, desperate plan – one that will force Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), Rebekah (guest star Claire Holt), and Freya to make the greatest sacrifice their family has ever endured.”

Even though the synopsis does not explain how Elijah is saved, it does reveal that he comes back to help save Hope Mikaelson from The Hollow. This indicates that Freya and Hayley are successful in saving the fan-favorite character.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, in The Originals Season 4, Episode 10, Freya and Hayley go on a journey. Using all of her magical powers, Freya does everything in her power to save her brother. The synopsis for the next episode reveals that she will ask Hayley for help. In a promo clip, Hayley is seen going down a hallway and she stops to open a red door. In the next scene, Elijah is seen, but there is something distant and scary in his eyes. It is clear that he is stuck in some sort of memory.

As executive producer Michael Narducci explained, Elijah’s psyche is fractured and the Mikaelson family will have to try to find a way to repair it. However, they are not even sure they can find him. The promo for Episode 10 teases that he is found and the synopsis for the season finale hints that he does get saved and pulled back to the real world.

TV Line interviewed Daniel Gillies and the actor explained that this is not the first time Elijah has died in The Originals. Fans know this, but were still concerned about his fate. Gillies said when a character is killed off, either Michael Narducci or Julie Plec will walk down the hallway to inform the actor. This has not happened with Daniel, which suggested that Elijah will be saved.

Even though Elijah is brought back to life, another character is in danger. The Hollow has plans for Hayley in Episode 10. It is revealed that she will be fighting for her life. Then, in Episode 11, Hayley will be dealing with falling to The Hollow’s manipulations. By the time the Season 4 finale comes around, it is Hope Mikaelson’s life that is in jeopardy. The entire family will have to band together to save the child’s life. Can they defeat The Hollow or is it already too late to save Hope?
