‘Britain’s Got Talent’ 2017: Amanda Holden Defies Age With Raunchy Dress, Instagram Loves It Despite Protests
ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent 2017 judge Amanda Holden defied age with a super-revealing dress on Thursday, June 1. While there have been a number of formal complaints about the dress, Holden’s Instagram followers absolutely love it.
The 46-year-old British TV star wore a green dress that had a deep plunging neckline. The dress, designed by British designer Julien McDonald, was equally revealing at the back. However, Amanda does not seem to be concerned about the complaints. She is hardly bothered that people are complaining to the U.K. Office of Communications about her dress that they believe is inappropriate for a family show.
Presenter Ant McPartlin looked stunned by Amanda Holden’s age-defying outfit. He could not resist commenting on it.
“Look what Amanda’s wearing… Or look what she isn’t wearing.”
Comedian David Walliams also commented on Amanda’s dress in his own typical way. Williams, who was recognized as the Best Judge at the 2015 National Television Awards, was commenting on a choir. He ended his comments with a direct reference to his colleague’s outfit.
“And none of you are wearing an inappropriate low-cut top,” he said.
According to reports, more than 200 official complaints have already been lodged. However, Amanda is unperturbed. In fact, Britain’s Got Talent 2017 judge Amanda Holden wants more people to complain about the dress that she wore in the fourth live semi-final of the show.
“I haven’t done my job if they aren’t.”
HuffPost UK got in touch with Ofcom to know if it was doing something about the complaints it had received. The Office of Communications said in a statement that it would like to assess the complaints first before deciding if there should be an investigation.
Amanda Holden shared a couple of images of her wearing the dress on her Instagram profile. She thanked Team Mandy for achieving the hair and makeup look that was her favorite so far. Most of her followers apparently love the look. They specifically loved the outfit she was wearing.
One of them wondered what it’d take to achieve a look like Amanda’s. Another follower felt that the dress fits as if it was the skin Amanda was born in. There are compliments like “beautifully stunning and sexy,” “fantastic,” and “hot.” There are Instagram followers who want Amanda Holden to ignore what the “unkind” press is saying. They also want to ignore those who have a problem with Amanda wearing the dress.
There are some Instagram followers who believe Amanda’s dress is inappropriate for a family show watched by children. However, one of Amanda’s supporters believes that children these days have access to much more “revealing” content on the internet. One of the followers has strong words of appreciation for the Britain’s Got Talent 2017 judge. According to the fan, there are very few 46-year-olds who could pull this outfit off.
“You have the body for it. Most women don’t.”
Amanda Holden defended her look with a Coco Chanel quote in the caption of her Instagram photo. According to the quote, it is always better to be slightly underdressed. She is not the only one who loves the so-called “inappropriate” dress.
“Ignore the negative comments because I think you look stunning.”
Amanda Holden must love the fact that her fans are backing her in this. However, if Ofcom decides to start an investigation into this, things might get complicated for her.
