Kendall Jenner Is The New Face Of Adidas Despite Pepsi Ad Backlash

Kendall Jenner is trying her hand at being the face of a brand, and this time she’s going for Adidas. The star is the newest Ambassador for the Adidas Originals line, and she announced it to everyone by posting a video of herself on Instagram driving in a golf cart past an Adidas sign reading “Welcome to the Family.”

The star has been spotted in several Adidas brand outfits, which makes her a great ambassador for the clothing and sneaker line. She has also been spotted wearing their sneakers more than once on days out.

The supermodel, however, has had her share of issues when it comes to being a brand ambassador. Not long ago, she faced severe backlash for a Pepsi ad she appeared in in which she appeared to stop a protest by giving a police officer a can of Pepsi. The ad was criticized as “tone deaf” and as appropriating the Black Lives Matter movement.

According to older half-sister, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner was actually really upset by the backlash and is trying her best to move on from it. Working with Adidas seems like it’s her way of starting over and putting the past behind her.

Although Kendall Jenner has yet to publicly address the ad, which was pulled almost immediately after it debuted, Kim Kardashian addressed it on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

“She totally understood at the end of the day, and she felt really awful for it. She just wants to move on from it,” Kim explained.

Kim went on to address the issue further.

“I didn’t see it until it had already gotten the attention, and so you obviously have a different perspective when everyone’s just saying something,” she said. “I think I was traveling, and I landed when I saw all this stuff come up.”

Kim Kardashian also said that her younger half-sister is extremely sensitive, so she was really upset that she might have hurt people in the process of creating and debuting the ad.

“I think anytime someone does anything, they don’t have bad intentions of doing it a certain way, especially because Kendall is so sensitive. She would never mean for anyone to perceive anything in a negative way,” Kim added.

Kendall Jenner was recently seen in Cannes where she walked the runway in Fashion for Relief. She also got to hang out with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky in addition to her oldest half-sister, Kourtney Kardashian, and her sister’s new boyfriend. The pair were seen in matching outfits, at various parties and playing in the sun on yachts. It definitely isn’t all work and no play for this high powered Kardashian-Jenner sibling!

But now that Kendall Jenner has returned to the United States, her sights are set on her next big adventure, which is modeling for Adidas.

The young star is also often seen on the family’s reality series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, as well as their many spin-offs. However, she is often traveling for her modeling jobs and duties.

Kendall Jenner is seen in the newest preview for the show for next week reacting to her father, Caitlyn Jenner’s, memoir, The Secrets of My Life. She yells to her mother, Kris Jenner, that what she has said about them is “insane,” after asking if they had read the book.

Reportedly, Kendall Jenner and her younger sister, Kylie Jenner, were mortified over their father’s description of his relationship with his penis and the graphic description of his sexual reassignment surgery. Neither has spoken out about it publicly, however, and their reactions may be contained to the television series.
