‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Sal Stowers On ‘Lani 2.0’, Hints Island Halo Withdrawal, Questions JJ’s Feelings
Days Of Our Lives fans have seen more storylines with Lani Price in the past several weeks. In an interview, actress Sal Stowers discussed her character’s return to Salem and what to expect in future episodes. It turns out that her withdrawal from Halo will come back while stranded on the island. Also, she will once again question JJ Deveraux’s (Casey Moss) feelings.
DOOL spoilers are ahead. Do not continue reading unless you want to know what is coming up on the NBC soap opera.
The first time Lani was in Salem, the writers didn’t do much with her character. The biggest storyline was Abe Carver (James Reynolds) finding out he had a daughter from a previous relationship. However, her return has been exciting, both for the actress and fans. In the latest issue of CBS Soaps In Depth, Sal Stower‘s interview was published in the Days Of Our Lives bonus section. What did she have to say about “Lani 2.0” and her storylines?
When Lani went after Snake, he forced her to take too many Halo pills. Even though she threw them up, the drugs were already in her system. As a result, Lani was hospitalized and had to go through withdrawal. She kept her struggle from JJ, but Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) happened to witness what she was going through. When reading the script, Stowers researched addiction and withdrawal symptoms so she could give a genuine performance. The DOOL actress learned a lot about it, especially how the body reacts when it is deprived of a drug.
“I didn’t know there was fear, loneliness, hot and cold sensations, and feeling like your skin is on fire. I wanted to ‘go there’ because I wanted to fully bring to those scenes everything that I was capable of.”
As for why Lani kept her withdrawal from JJ on Days Of Our Lives, the actress said her character is trying to prove herself to him. Sal added that Lani is always trying to be “Superwoman.”
Now, Eli, JJ, Lani, and some others are stranded on an island after an airplane crash. According to Stower’s interview, Lani will start to go through Halo withdrawal while on the island. It won’t just be Lani that will have a difficult time. Everyone will be tested because they are “fearing for their lives.” Fans have already seen this fear with Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus).
While dealing with Halo withdrawals on Days Of Our Lives, Lani Price will also question JJ’s feelings. She explained why the DOOL character is insecure about her love life.
“She wonders if this is really what he wants or if it’s just something to get him by… and then, of course, Eli is there, so there’s a little tension [with him] as well.”
Sal told the publication that she likes JJ and Lani together. She thinks they are fun and have a “playful chemistry.” She also explained that JJ Deveraux “gets her.” However, some fans disagree and think Eli and Lani would be a better fit. This debate was further fueled by executive producer Ken Corday’s comments about the couple. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, he teased not only Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Abigail’s (Marci Miller) future but also hinted JJ and Gabi might reconcile.
“We want the audience to root for Abigail and Chad, and JJ and Gabi, but there are hurdles for them all to get past first.”
Fans are convinced that JJ still has feelings for Gabi on Days Of Our Lives. Not only is he overly concerned about his ex-girlfriend, but went out of his way to warn her about specific issues. One example is his warning about Eduardo (A Martinez) and Dario Hernandez’s (Jordi Vilasuso) shady business deals. Also, when Gabi showed up on the airplane posing as a stewardess, JJ could be seen in the background chuckling to himself. Some viewers may have missed it, but Lani’s eyes darted toward her boyfriend, so it isn’t something that escaped her attention.
What do you think of what Sal Stowers said about Lani Price on Days Of Our Lives? How will she hide her withdrawal symptoms from the other stranded passengers? Does she have a future with JJ Deveraux or is Eli Grant a better fit for Salem detective?
