‘Return to Amish’: Carmela Talks About Split With Jeremiah After Getting Into Accident
Return to Amish star Carmela Raber has broken her silence over her separation with husband Jeremiah Raber. Her update comes after she got into a car accident while she was with Jeremiah.
Carmela and Jeremiah to remain separated
For now, the Return to Amish couple remains separated as they are working to fix their own issues first. In her Facebook post, Carmela shared that she’s going to Florida, but she will not be living with Jeremiah in the same house for the time being. She wrote as follows.
“I love Jeremiah and I got married for the long haul and yes he has issues and I have issues as well.”
She added that they both want to fix their relationship and they admitted that they both need help to solve their personal issues. “No one deserves to get mistreated and Jeremiah has definitely admitted to needing the help and most importantly he is putting actions behind it,” she continued.
“I need help as well I’m not perfect either. I have things I need to work on to help our relationship succeed… I’m not jumping back into the same house but the ultimate goal is to get back together and have the family we dreamed of.”

Last month, Jeremiah was arrested for domestic violence. The Return to Amish couple reportedly got into an intense argument, and Jeremiah threatened to harm his wife several times. Carmela showed the responding officers her bruises on arms and legs and claimed that her husband strikes her on a daily basis, as reported by Radar Online.
Jeremiah Raber issued a public apology relating to the incident that got him arrested. “Please allow me to apologize for what I did last week. My behavior was extremely inappropriate, immature, and lacked the respect she deserved. It was a very bad idea to do what I did,” he wrote. “It was embarrassing, and I learned that she didn’t deserve my poor behavior. In the future, I have every intention of curbing my thoughtless actions and learn to adjust my behavior befitting the environment and situation. I’m going to go thru personal counseling to better me and the marriage.”
Carmela’s car crashed in Colorado
Carmela was driving a Chryser 200 when the car was hit by another one, which allegedly ran the red light. “He came flying out of nowhere and luckily we had many witnesses. They said he was texting or messing with his phone,” she wrote on Facebook. Jeremiah was with her, sitting in the passenger’s seat. Much to the Return to Amish star’s relief, their children were not with them when the accident happened, as reported by Starcasm.
Carmela and Jeremiah both sustained injuries but were able to walk away from the scene of the accident despite the fact their airbags did not deploy. “When it happened we felt numb. As time passes were getting really sore. I checked [Jeremiah] has a line on his face and it’s purple. My left knee is swollen. My right side on my stomach hurts,” Carmela said.

Meanwhile, it was not clear why the couple were in Colorado together. It might probably have something to do with them willing to go to counseling, but there was no clarification on that. Fans have been encouraging Carmela to never go back to Jeremiah because domestic violence is never okay.
Ending his social media hiatus, Jeremiah responded to several negative comments on Facebook and Twitter, and claims that he’s been changing for Carmela. He asks people to stop their negativity and instead support him and Carmela as they try to make their marriage work better.
Return to Amish is now on its Season 4 and airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. on TLC.
