Why Kendall Jenner Is Reportedly Distancing Herself From ‘Hindrance’ Kim Kardashian

Kendall Jenner is reportedly distancing herself from her family amid reports the model believes being associated with sister Kim Kardashian and her fellow siblings is a “hindrance” to her blossoming modeling career.

According to reports, Kendall has made the decision to cut down her time on Keeping Up With the Kardashians and won’t be out and about with her siblings in public as much because she allegedly believes that being a part of the Kardashian world is disrupting her career as a serious model.

“[Kendall] wants to be known in her own right as a supermodel… away from the Kardashian family brand name,” an insider told Hollywood Life of Jenner’s decision to distance herself from the Kardashian clan.

The model reportedly thinks that her association with big sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, little sister Kylie Jenner, and the cameras that constantly surround them is a “hindrance” because she wants to be taken seriously as a model and not a reality star.

“Kendall wants to move away from that scene and be taken seriously as a top model,” said the site’s insider, noting that although Jenner is “pleased” Kylie just landed her own reality show titled Life of Kylie but has no plans to ever head down that route herself.

“Kendall’s modeling career is going really amazing, and she’s worked so hard to be taken seriously,” continued the Jenner source. “She feels like she’s finally getting there and that she’s now being booked because she’s Kendall the model, not just one of the Kardashians.”

As for how Kendall will be attempting to distance herself from her famous sisters and reality TV stardom, the insider revealed that Jenner has allegedly already made the decision to cut down her KUWTK camera time and won’t be making appearances on the family reality show as regularly as she used to.

“Kendall will still make some appearances here and there in Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and in Kylie’s new show, but only when she’s in town and around,” the outlet claimed, adding that Jenner now “wants to limit her time on camera as much as possible” as she focuses on her career away from the TV.

Reality TV is “not the thing that she wants to be known for in her life,” added the source amid reports Jenner’s fellow models seriously slammed her as “reality trash” earlier this year.

Kendall spoke out about moving away from her family and the Kardashian brand when she first began to embark on a serious modeling career back in 2014 as Jenner revealed at the time that she didn’t want to use her family name and wanted to build her own brand as a supermodel.

“I’m not trying to use a family or anything,” Jenner said during an interview with Nightline three years ago. “In reality, I worked pretty hard for this.”

Notably, Kendall has also been appearing on Keeping Up With the Kardashians less and less over the past few seasons, despite the model first appearing on the E! reality show when it first debuted a decade ago in 2007, aged just 11-years-old.

Kendall also spoke out about the constant cameras present in her and her family’s lives just last month during an increasingly rare appearance on the show, even describing her brother Rob Kardashian’s reality show with on/off girlfriend Blac Chyna as being “sad” and “depressing.”

“A show should not be coming out of anyone’s mouth because that’s the craziest thing I’ve ever heard,” Jenner said on Keeping Up With the Kardashians of reality TV just last month, according to Jezebel. “The fact that everyone’s lives revolve around a show and to make someone happy with a show is the most sad, depressing thing.”
