Target Fires Katt Williams Slap Victim
Remember the Target employee that comedian Katt Williams slapped last week? He got fired.
You’ll recall the scene, captured on video, which showed Katt Williams at the height of his meltdown, chatting with a Target employee. Everything seems innocent until Williams slaps the young man in the face. The young man pulls out his phone to call police, and Williams stands for a few moments before escaping the scene on a motorized shopping cart.
The young Target employee, Forrest Liebenberg, said that he has since been fired from his job, according to TMZ. He didn’t strike back, he remained composed, and for all we can tell, he didn’t retaliate, but he’s still out of the job.
He told CBS13 that he had been fired from Target without any explanation:
“Maybe I was a little uninformed about how seriously the situation was with Target, but obviously it is pretty serious, I was just terminated today. They weren’t very clear, but it is obvious to me that it was based on this incident.”
Liebenberg said he doesn’t know whether or not the leaked footage of Katt Williams slapping him is part of the reason for his firing. He says he’s not the one who leaked the footage. There are actually two videos: One is a security video, while the other was from a shopper’s phone.
Target confirmed that Liebenberg was fired, but didn’t explain why, just that it had nothing to do with Katt Williams.
“His departure was unrelated to the video footage that has appeared online,” adding, “Out of respect for the privacy of this individual, we cannot discuss the reasons for his departure.”
