Melania Trump In $4,170 Reem Acra Sky-Blue Embellished Silk-Chiffon Gown
When President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump prepared to board Air Force One en route to Israel, Melania donned a greenish-blue toned gown that appeared seriously comfortable for the flight out of King Khalid International Airport, on Monday, May 22, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As reported by White House Wardrobe, the now “sold out and low stock” gown was from Reem Acra, a designer whose wares can be seen on many Hollywood actresses on plenty of red carpets. The silk chiffon gown can be viewed in photos on Net-a-Porter, described as follows, with a $4,170 price tag.
“Designed without seams at the shoulders for a beautiful draped shape, Reem Acra’s sky-blue gown is lined in satin and embellished with metallic embroidery and crystals in a floral arrangement. The way it moves is so light and graceful, so complement this with loose tresses.”

The gown does contain a slim-fitting slip and is comprised of lightweight fabric cut so big that there’s no need for stretchy material. The sky-blue silk-chiffon gown was made of 100 percent silk.

According to Vogue, Melania chose to wear Reem Acra during another point in her brief stay in Saudi Arabia. That was on Saturday evening, when Melania donned a raspberry Reem Acra caped dress topped off with a diamond collar high upon the neckline.
According to one social media user, TV Writer/Director Nell Scovell, the necklace Melania wore with the chiffon gown appears to be the Tiffany & Co. “Vintage Diamond & Coral Round Pendant 18k Yellow Gold Necklace,” which is a 16-inch necklace priced at $1,385.00 on Tradesy, described as such.

It is crafted from solid 18k yellow gold it features a round shape pendant adorned on the round bezel with sparkling diamond, the center of the pendant has a round cabochon coral stone. Angelina Jolie wore a similarly cut Reem Acra gown, as shown above, during the 2008 Changeling premiere, attended with Brad Pitt during the 61st International Cannes Film Festival on May 20, in Cannes, France. The forgiving cut of the gown likely makes it a common choice for pregnant women who still want to look fashionable, as well as a good choice for first ladies who visit countries who frown upon gear they deem too sexy for women to wear in public.
Melania received some compliments from social media users who liked the color of the Reem Acra gown, even though photos of Melania wearing the gown did not seem to go as viral as some of Melania’s other looks. The designer was the target of certain backlash from people who didn’t appreciate Acra dressing Melania.
