Katy Perry Slams Taylor Swift, Reveals The Truth About Their Nasty Feud [Video]
After years of feud drama, Katy Perry is finally revealing the truth about her drama with nemesis Taylor Swift.
Katy got seriously candid about the drama that took over the headlines for much of 2014 and 2015 during her latest “Carpool Karaoke” session with James Corden on The Late Late Show, where Katy revealed once and for all what happened between herself and Taylor and what’s next for their nasty feud.
“There’s a situation,” Katy told James when the late night talk show host asked the “Swish Swish” singer about her years-long feud with Taylor, according to E! News. Perry bluntly told Corden “she started it, and it’s time for her to finish it.”
Katy then confirmed that she had attempted to contact Taylor in the midst of their nasty feud, but claimed Swift purposefully ignored her phone call and refused to speak with her.
“I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn’t speak to me,” Perry said of Swift’s radio silence. “I do the right thing any time that it feels like a fumble.”
“It was a full shutdown and then she writes a song about me, and I’m like, ‘OK, cool, cool, cool, that’s how you want to deal with it?’ Karma!” Katy then continued, likely referring to her latest track “Swish Swish” which is rumored to be a diss track in response to Swift’s 2015 hit “Bad Blood.”
Perry then went into more detail on exactly what caused their nasty feud in an extended version of her “Carpool Karaoke” session, confirming that the drama all happened because the two fought over dancers.
As Katy and Taylor fans will likely remember, when revealing their feud for the first time in 2014, Taylor told Rolling Stone that an unnamed female musician attempted to sabotage her tour by stealing a number of her dancers from her tour, though she never named the perpetrator by name.
However, Katy Perry is now confirming that she is, in fact, the one in question, confirming to Corden that the dancer drama caused her nasty rift with Taylor Swift.
“It’s about backing dancers. It’s so crazy!” Perry confirmed, revealing that she had three backing dancers on her “Prism Tour” who then went to dance for Swift while her show was on hiatus.
“They asked me before they went on tour if they could they go and I was like, ‘Yeah, of course!'” Katy said but confirmed that she asked the dancers to put into their contract that they could leave Swift’s tour on 30 days’ notice to return and dance for her when she was ready to get back on the road.
“I texted all of them because I’m very close with them,” Perry continued of how she alerted the dancers to the fact that she needed them back on her team but revealed that after they spoke to Swift’s management about heading back out with her “they got fired.”
But while Katy is seriously slamming her fellow pop star while dishing on her and Taylor’s feud drama, Perry also made it pretty clear on the show that she’s actually now ready to put her and Swift’s drama behind her and told the late night host that if the “Style” singer sent her a text and said the feud was over she’d be willing to put an end to their beef once and for all.
“I’m ready for that BS to be done,” Perry said during her “Carpool Karaoke” session of the feud with Taylor.
“I think personally that women together, not divided, and none of this petty bulls***. Women together will heal the world,” added Perry.
