Vanessa Hudgens Debuts Even Shorter Haircut For Billboard Co-Hosting Gig
Vanessa Hudgens is “Breaking Free” and saying “Gotta Go My Own Way” as she debuts an even shorter haircut while co-hosting the Billboard Music Awards.
Vanessa Hudgens, who chopped off her long hair just days ahead of her Billboard Music Awards co-hosting gig, decided to go even shorter during preps for the awards show on Sunday.
But Vanessa Hudgens wouldn’t be able to get an even shorter hair without the help of her hairstylist Chad Wood and singer Celine Dion, who proved throughout her decades-long career that she is no stranger to rocking shorter haircuts.
Vanessa Hudgens, who took to Instagram days before Billboard Music Awards to stun her 25.6 million followers with a brand new short haircut, decided to go even shorter while getting her makeup and hair done on Sunday.
After Billboard Music Awards 2017 came to an end, People magazine exclusively spoke to Vanessa Hudgens’s personal hairstylist, who revealed quite a few secrets behind the Powerless actress’s shorter haircut – and it has a lot to do with Celine Dion!
Celine Dion, who performed “My Heart Will Go On” in honor of Titanic‘s 20th anniversary at Billboard Music Awards 2017 (and left the awards show’s co-host Vanessa Hudgens teary-eyed), may have inspired Hudgens’s shorter hair!
Wood revealed that “there is nothing serious” whenever he does Vanessa Hudgens’s hair ahead of big events. Hudgens’s personal hairstylist revealed to People that the style session ahead of the Billboard Music Awards 2017 was very lighthearted, with Hudgens listening to Celine Dion songs and even breaking into a dance occasionally!
“We’re always silly, nothing is serious when we are getting ready together!”
On Vanessa Hudgens’s decision to go with even shorter hair for Billboard Music Awards red carpet, Wood explained that they were looking to achieve a structured look that “wouldn’t take away from her natural beauty.”
And it took away not a single drop from Vanessa Hudgens’s natural beauty at the Billboard Music Awards, as even the Sunday night’s sensation Drake, who broke the BBMAs record with 13 wins, complimented Vanessa Hudgens’ looks and may have even scored himself a date with her!
But Wood also noted that Vanessa Hudgens’ idea to debut an even shorter hair at Billboard Music Awards wasn’t born hours ahead of the awards show, as he and the actress discussed various looks for her co-hosting gig days ahead.
“We were sending pictures back and forth and this was one of the looks we came up with.”
But singing and dancing to Celine Dion songs during style sessions isn’t the only thing that inspires Wood to create stunning looks for Vanessa Hudgens, as the hairstylist says it’s also the actress’s positive energy that makes him “more creative.”
“She is so positive – and fun – it makes me more creative.”
Vanessa Hudgens received praise for her hosting chops at the Billboard Music Awards 2017 as well as her looks debuted throughout the Sunday night show. Wood was responsible for Hudgens’ several looks at the BBMAs 2017.
But singing Celine Dion songs while getting her hair done ahead of Billboard Music Awards isn’t the best proof that Vanessa Hudgens is a huge fan of Dion. Sharing an Instagram picture with the “My Heart Will Go On” hitmaker while looking overly excited, on the other hand, is.
Vanessa Hudgens wasn’t the only host at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, as the actress was also joined by rapper and actor Ludacris, for whom it’s been his fourth straight year hosting the BBMAs.
As much as Drake’s fans would love to see Vanessa Hudgens go on a date with the “One Dance” hitmaker, the High School Musical alum has been dating boyfriend Austin Butler for nearly six years now.
So looks like Drake will have to hand his “Passionfruit” to someone else.
