Shaun White Buys $3.85 Million Home in California
Shaun White has recently added himself to the list of famous California residents. The two-time Olympic gold medalist bought a oceanfront home for a reported $3.85 million.
According to TMZ, the professional skateboarder and snowboarder’s new home sits on the beach in Encinitas, CA, a suburb 25 miles north of San Diego. For $3.85 million, White scored a 3,500-square-foot, three-bedroom, three-bathroom residence with many bonus features. Not only does his new pad have floor-to-ceiling ocean views, but it also boasts a wraparound deck with a fire pit overlooking the water, and a private staircase that gives easy access to the Pacific Ocean.
The price tag may seem a bit hefty for some, but the house came at a discount. White negotiated $400,000 off the original $4.25 million asking price.
This purchase is a positive move for White, who was charged in September with public intoxication and vandalism when he allegedly pulled a fire alarm at the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville forcing all guests to evacuate the building. According to USA Today, prosecutors agreed to dismiss charges if White completed alcohol treatment, performed 24 hours of community service and paid restitution. White has already completed alcohol treatment, and he’s scheduled to return to court on January 25.

Now, many are speculating that White is working on honing his surfing skills. In a video released on White’s Facebook, White talks about how his dad introduced him to the sport:
“The day I actually first surfed, my dad got me a hard board and … I was like this is really fun, can’t wait do this again.”
The movie is part of a holiday campaign where White will give fans a chance to win prizes such as a trip for two to the Dew Tour Mountain Championships in Colorado and autographed products from major brands.
The San Diego native will be competing at Dew Tour, which takes place December 13-16 at Breckenridge ski resort.
