When Is Anna Duggar’s Due Date? Duggars Remain Mum About Upcoming Birth
Josh and Anna Duggar are expecting their fifth child sometime this year. However, details about the pregnancy have been scarce as the Duggars have mentioned Anna’s pregnancy just once in a short paragraph placed on the family blog by Josh and Anna announcing the baby’s gender. The Duggar family has limited communications about their disgraced eldest son following revelations of molestation and infidelity which ultimately led to the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting. However, Anna has been a mainstay on the family’s spin-off show Counting On. Therefore, many fans are wondering, when is Anna Duggar due?
On March 17, 2017, the Duggars released a public statement on their official family blog from Josh and Anna Duggar. The one-paragraph post revealed the pair were expecting their fifth child together, a little boy. While the news of a new grandchild is typically one that the Duggars would openly share without hesitation, this pregnancy was different. Josh Duggar has been cut from the family spotlight after it was revealed that he molested five girls, including four of his sisters, when he was a teen. Likewise, it was also revealed that Josh was unfaithful to his wife Anna after he was discovered in the Ashley Madison data dump.
With Josh’s transgressions revealed, numerous advertisers for the family’s show 19 Kids and Counting began to pull from the series. However, TLC wasn’t ready to give up on the Duggars for good. The network announced a new series called Counting On that would focus on the older Duggar children, particularly Jill and Jessa’s new marriages and pregnancies. It appears that Josh Duggar was forbidden from appearing on the show and the network went so far as to use light glares and babies to hide Josh in sister Jinger Vuolo’s wedding special, according to the Daily Mail.
With so much controversy surrounding Josh Duggar, it is no wonder the family has steered away from sharing details about Josh and his family. The Duggars were vocal about Josh attending a Christian rehabilitation facility and claimed that Anna was attending marital counseling with her spouse, but beyond generic responses, the family was rather silent on the matter.
That silence was finally broken when Josh and Anna made their pregnancy announcement. The pair first addressed the elephant in the room by noting they have “quietly worked to save their marriage” for nearly two years and that they have been focusing on rebuilding their lives together. Josh and Anna then announced that they would be having their fifth child together later this year and revealed that the baby is a boy.
“For nearly the last two years, we have quietly worked to save our marriage, focus on our children, and rebuild our lives together as a family. Doing so is never easy after a breach of trust. We’ve learned that a life of faith and rebuilding a life together is simply done one day at a time. As we continue our journey as a family and rebuild our lives, we are delighted to share with you that we are expecting a new baby boy later this year. The Duggars kept information on the pregnancy brief and did not reveal a due date or hint at how far along Anna was in her pregnancy at the time of the posting. However, since the pair were confident in the gender of the baby, the due date is almost certainly September 15, 2017, or earlier. Most pregnant women receive ultrasounds mid-pregnancy at around 20 weeks when they find out gender. However, the Duggars typically use midwives and their ultrasounds have historically been performed at boutique ultrasound facilities. Many ultrasound companies can check gender beginning at 14 weeks, but most will not guarantee accuracy until 15 weeks or later.
Therefore, if Anna Duggar made her birth announcement the day she found out the baby’s gender, she would be due around September 15. However, she could be much further along than that as she most likely has been simmering on the information for some time before making it public. Therefore, we can expect the new Duggar grandson to make his entrance before the end of the summer, mid-September at the latest.
