Beyonce Documentary Teaser Drops [Video]
A teaser for Beyoncé’s upcoming self-starring, directed and executive produced documentary has arrived.
HBO will screen the as-yet untitled feature length film in the US next February, before rolling it out to other territories.
Billed as an “intimate portrait” when it was announced on November 26, HBO promised access to Beyoncé and her family — including baby daughter Blue Ivy — as well as traditional performance footage.
In the 25 second clip released today, Beyoncé’s voiceover states:
“I always battle with how much do I reveal about myself. If I’m scared, be scared. Allow it, release it.”
Cue shots of the star in rehearsal, in concert, snippets of her post-giving-birth return gigs at “Revel” in Atlantic City — and a glimpse of her baby bump before the big arrival.
It looks good, and hopefully the documentary will deliver on the Crazy in Love singer’s intention to reveal herself in ways she hasn’t before.
Already, the world has seen a more open Beyoncé this year. The 31-year-old opened a Tumblr blog in April, posting photographs, messages and impressions of her extraordinary life.
The first half of 2013 will be a busy one for the Houston native. The documentary will premiere less than two weeks after she performs at the half time show for the Super Bowl in New Orleans on February 3.
With 16 grammy awards and sales of more than 75 million to her name, whether you’re buying what Beyoncé’s selling is almost immaterial. She is the kind of artist that commands a level of respect simply because of what she has achieved.
Beyoncé will debut on a small screen near you on February 16, 2013.
