Ozzy Osbourne And Sharon Osbourne Renew Wedding Vows Following Singer’s Cheating Scandal
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, after 35 years of marriage, have decided to renew their commitment to one another. In May of 2016, the couple started the year with the bombshell revelation that Ozzy cheated on his wife with celebrity hairstylist Michelle Pugh, as per People. Ozzy’s controversial cheating scandal led to major speculation that their longtime marriage was over.
The couple renewed their wedding vows in an intimate ceremony last weekend, a source close to the Osbourne family revealed to ET. The 68-year-old Black Sabbath frontman opened up to Hello! Magazine and said that the renewal of their wedding vows felt like a new beginning for the couple.
“For me, this was actually our real wedding day. This is the one that I will remember… Sharon and I have been through so much, and this honestly feels like a new beginning.”
Ozzy said it’s easier to take one another for granted after 35 years of marriage. The couple has been together for 38 years at the time of their temporary split. Ozzy said, “You have to have some ups and downs.”
Earlier this month, Sharon, 64, opened up to Julie Chen about reconciling with Ozzy. On The Talk, Sharon revealed that she had to fall back in love with Ozzy after his affair nearly ended their marriage.
“[I] probably, really, just months ago [fell back in love] because he was trying so hard to be a better person — desperately trying, working his program, working with his therapist every day and trying so hard.”
According to Us Weekly, this wasn’t Ozzy’s only affair. Sharon had reportedly caught Ozzy in bed with two nannies in March 2016.
“I made a huge mistake… Without Sharon, I am nothing. I love her. I can honestly say that I have never loved anybody other than my wife.”
Ozzy and Sharon had temporarily called it quits back in May of last year, but the two have worked on their marital issues and formed an even stronger union.
When Sharon was asked by her talk show co-host, Julie Chen, in the summer of 2017 about how she forgave Ozzy — Sharon, 64, responded, “Probably, really, just months ago because he was trying so hard to be a better person—desperately trying, working his program, working with his therapist every day and trying so hard.
“I just had a newfound love… and I respected him because he’s seriously trying to be a better person.”

These days, Kelly has much more uplifting and humorous news about her parents, as revealed to ET last month.
“I’ve never seen two people who love each other more, who were more meant for each other than my mom and dad,” Kelly told ET last month.
Kelly also talked about the new diamond wedding ring Ozzy surprised Sharon with in October.
“He was so excited about giving her the ring… And, every time they’re out, I’m like, ‘Dad, you got to be more gentle with Mom’s hand,’ because he’s holding her hand like, ‘Look! Isn’t it great?'”
The Osbourne family was strong enough to work through the ordeal. Ozzy surprised Sharon with a bouquet of flowers on her 64th birthday on live television.
“In my life I have been so blessed but when one side of your life is so brilliant other things can suffer. It is hard when you are both successful and both working away.”
Sharon and Ozzy have had their “ups and downs,” but have always stuck together. Evidence of this dates back to their youth. In 1970, 18-year-old Sharon first met future husband, Ozzy, when he was 22 years old. It was during this time that Black Sabbath kicked Ozzy out of the band due to drug use. Sharon is the daughter of then-music promoter and rock and roll entrepreneur Dan Arden.
Sharon then took on a manager role and stuck by Ozzy to help launch his successful solo music career. The couple married on July 4, 1982.
Issues plagued the couple from the very beginning of their union. Over the years, reports of physical altercations between the two supposedly took place very regularly, according to the Daily Mail.
In 1989, Ozzy was arrested following a drug-fueled attempt at choking Sharon. The mom of three has admitted to helping Ozzy try to kick his addiction to drugs over the past 25 years. The ordeal forced the rocker into rehab, which Sharon saw as a positive step towards their future. Sharon soon forgave Ozzy after he was released, and she refused to press charges.
Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne hit the mainstream on MTV’s The Osbournes. The reality show was unlike any of its kind and was a hit worldwide. The Osbournes launched both Sharon and Kelly’s hosting careers.
