Katy Perry Reportedly Dating Calvin Harris After Collaboration: Taylor Swift Furious?

Katy Perry has her eyes on Calvin Harris, it’s been alleged, and one can only wonder how furious this is going to make Taylor Swift.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Calvin is prepping to release yet another album later this year and one of his featured collaborations on the record is the “Roar” singer, USA Today confirms, which seemed rather unsurprising considering how both artists have had their fair share of feuds with Taylor.

Over the summer of 2016, Calvin infamously took to Twitter, admitting that Swift had attempted to sabotage Katy Perry’s career after Swift had made the claims that the 32-year-old stole her backup dancers in the midst of preparing for a world tour, which delayed the entire process for the former country singer.

While this incident reportedly happened five years ago, Taylor Swift hasn’t gotten over the alleged incident and still holds a grudge against Katy Perry for it, having penned hit songs about her feud with Perry, with her most famous one being “Bad Blood.”

Katy Perry dating Calvin isn’t out of revenge against Taylor for having tried to end her career, according to latest claims — sources via OK! magazine explain that the singer simply has a close connection to Harris, and ever since working together in the studio, the duo has grown extremely close.

Hollywood Life cites the news outlet alleging that aside from the fact that they bond over their annoyance at Taylor Swift for supposedly doing them dirty, Katy Perry has similar taste in music as Calvin — they talk quite frequently and she’s really grown close to him because of it.

“[Katy and Calvin] genuinely have a lot in common,” a source explained to the magazine, making it known that Katy Perry and Harris are bonding extremely well. “It’s icing on the cake for Katy that she can drop this bomb on Taylor. There’s only one goal for Katy now, and that’s for a romance with Calvin to go public.”

Again, her main intentions to potentially go on a date with Calvin isn’t to spite Taylor; she supposedly just so happens to be attracted to the music producer, but knowing that he’s the ex-boyfriend to Swift just makes it sweeter for Katy Perry, according to rumors. She’s convinced that it would probably bother the “22” hitmaker, Celebrity Insider adds.

Katy Perry has been hinting in recent weeks that there’ll be a response to “Bad Blood” in the form of a song on the singer’s upcoming album. Katy made it known to her fans that she doesn’t like to be dragged into a feud, particularly on a large scale when it’s coming from someone like Taylor Swift.

It would only make it right for Katy Perry to pen a response track, after the 27-year-old had insinuated that the “I Kissed A Girl” star wasn’t just a bad friend but also a backstabber — they haven’t spoken in years, the insider continues.

Katy Perry’s new album, Witness, which drops next month, has yet to have its tracklist revealed, but according to reports, it’ll be out before the month’s end. From the titles alone, one will be able to make out whether or not there could potentially be a song about Taylor on there.

Of course, the news of Katy Perry wanting to date Calvin Harris comes in the midst of learning that the 32-year-old’s industry enemy is also planning to release an album later this year.

According to Us Weekly, Taylor has been working on her new record out in Nashville. According to insiders, Swift is completely satisfied with what she’s put together so far, and it goes without saying that if Katy Perry puts out some sort of diss record aimed at the former gospel singer, Taylor will waste no time to pen another track that’s aimed at Perry.
