After Episode 32, titled “Close Combat,” of Attack on Titan Season 2 aired recently, fans of the popular Japanese anime based on the manga Shingeki No Kyojin were relieved to see a lot of action. Earlier episodes of the AOT anime had predominately compounded the mysteries. The upcoming episode of the sequel to the AOT anime promises to be a lot calmer and will show just how mentally prepared the Elite Survey Corp are under stressful situations.
Warning: Attack on Titan Season 2 Episode 7 Spoilers and Episode 8 speculations ahead.
The upcoming episode of Attack on Titan Season 2 is said to be emotionally charged as members of the 104th Cadet Corps battle against their own. The Titan-shifters have undeniably put every member of the Elite Survey Corp in jeopardy. However, these creatures, who were once members of the very unit that protects the city and its inhabitants against the seemingly mindless monsters, have managed to strike a deep emotional blow that could shake the very foundations of the trust and friendship that was painstakingly built over several years. Incidentally, Reiner and Bertolt both revealed their true identities in the previous episodes and attempted to convince Eren to join them.

Episode 32 of the AOT anime revealed Eren’s focus and intensity as he took on the fearsome Armored Titan, who was earlier revealed to be none other than Reiner Braun, a former comrade-in-arms to the protagonist of the series. If that’s not all, Mikasa, the lead female character in AOT , could risk her life to protect Eren, who is battling a formidable adversary.

Strangely, the teaser about the upcoming episode adds to the confusion about the battle that is being fought between Eren and the Armored Titan. While the duo wrestles for dominance on the ground, the Colossal Titan trips on the wall and comes crashing down directly on them. The preview hints Mikasa is the one who is gravely injured. Moreover, Hannes rushes to her aide, thereby putting himself in danger.
It is likely that the upcoming episode may not reveal the outcome of the complex battle before briefly jumping into the past. Mikasa and Armin’s earlier days with Eren are packed with several bonding experiences that strengthened the trio’s resolve to protect their friends and people who have taken shelter behind huge walls. The flashback could indicate why Mikasa and Armin have always stood by Eren. Incidentally, Episode 33 of Attack on Titan Season 2 could test the resolve because the duo would have to protect Eren without considering the consequences, which includes risking their own lives. Meanwhile, Eren would have to work hard to protect Mikasa from the danger she is about to put herself in.

Since the sequel to the AOT anime is merely 12 episodes long, the creators will have to significantly speed things up in the remaining five episodes. Hence, the upcoming episode could also reveal if the peculiar sounds that Armored Titan made were, in fact, a war-cry to summon Colossal Titan and perhaps other Titans as well. Episode 33 of Attack on Titan , titled “The Hunters,” is scheduled to air on Saturday on various broadcasting networks in Japan. All the episodes of Attack on Titan Season 2 are available for streaming on several platforms like Crunchyroll , FUNimation , Anime Lab , and Hulu .
