‘Supernatural’ Season 13 Spoilers: Winchesters Get Animated In Scooby-Doo Crossover Episode

Supernatural Season 13 spoilers are already in, and fans are going to raise their eyebrows at the latest information. It was revealed that there would be an animated Scooby-Doo crossover episode. Even though some viewers thought this was a joke, it has been confirmed that it is really happening.

Spoilers might be ahead. Do not continue reading unless you want to know details about The CW series.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki made the announcement at The CW’s 2017 Upfronts Presentation. The show is known for stretching the limits. It is one way that they keep the series fresh even though it has been on the air for over a decade. The Winchester brothers have been in crossover episodes before but never one quite like this.

In an image that was shared on Twitter from the presentation, Sam and Dean Winchester are in cartoon form. With them is Scooby-Doo and there will probably be a big mystery to solve. The other characters from the animated series were not seen. There is no word on whether the crossover will just have the lovable dog or if the rest of the Scooby-Doo characters will also be in the episode.

As fans know, Supernatural Season 12 will air the final two episodes back-to-back tonight. The finale is titled “All Along The Watchtower,” and showrunner Andrew Dabb teased there will be a crazy twist. In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, the showrunner said Dean and Sam Winchester would be strongly affected by the events. At the same time, it will set up a new chapter for Season 13. Perhaps, it is some sort of crazy alternate universe that will throw Sam and Dean into an animated world?

“We’re wrapping a lot of things up and certain plot lines will be ended this season — some forever and some temporarily — but also, that allows us to build up steam going into Season 13. Coming out of the finale, people will have a pretty good idea of where things are going.”

Sam and Dean have been through everything imaginable. The Winchester brothers have been to hell and back, dealt with Lucifer (Mark Pellegrino), have both died numerous times, and everything in between. It would be understandable if the writers ran out of ideas, but they keep putting a fresh spin on things.

“There are some things that happen that impact strongly and directly on the boys, while at the same time, we are starting a new chapter in the show, [though] not in a way of erasing what’s come before. I think it’s something that will be a natural progression of what we’ve done but also cool and different and hopefully give us a lot of energy going into Season 13.”

Earlier this season, there was a Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) reference. The Walking Dead character is known for his barbed wire baseball bat, Lucille. That weapon made an appearance on the show. Morgan, who used to portray Sam and Dean’s father on Supernatural, had fun with the images on Twitter. Fans thought it was just a joke, but sure enough, Lucille had a “cameo” on The CW series.

According to Den Of Geek, the synopsis for Season 12, Episode 22, titled “Who We Are,” was released.

“Caught in a dangerous situation, Sam and Dean only have each other to rely on. Meanwhile, the fight between the American Hunters and the British Hunters comes to a head.”

The website also teased what to expect on the season finale. As Supernatural fans expect, the conclusion sounds like it will be explosive and shocking.

“Lucifer battles Sam, Dean. and Castiel (Misha Collins) for control of his unborn child.”

It was not revealed when the Scooby-Doo crossover episode would air in Season 13. However, fans can expect it to be fun, crazy, and interesting.

What do you think of Sam and Dean Winchester having an animated crossover episode? How will they land in Scooby-Doo’s world, and more importantly, how will the Supernatural characters get back to their own realm?
