Vladimir Putin Willing To Release Transcript Of Meeting With Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
It seems like every day there is a new accusation of a scandal developing within Donald Trump’s presidency. The latest accusation claims that President Trump illegally shared classified information with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The Trump administration, along with Russia, has denied the accusation.
A report by CNN states that Vladimir Putin is willing to release a copy of the transcript from the meeting between Trump and Lavrov in order to put a stop to the claims. According to Putin, this latest accusation against Trump is “political schizophrenia.”
“If the US administration finds it necessary, we are ready to provide the record of the conversation between Trump and Lavrov to the Senate and Congress.”
If Vladimir Putin sticks to his word and releases his copy of the transcript from the meeting, pressure could mount that forces the Trump administration to release their copy of the same meeting. Both transcripts would need to match up in order for the public to believe they are authentic.

Another report by CNN states that the Senate intelligence committee has put in a request to be told what was said during the meeting between Trump and Lavrov. Two members of the Senate intelligence committee, Senator Richard Burr and Senator Mark Warner, commented on the Senate’s request.
“Once Mark and I have an opportunity to talk to individuals that were in the meeting, that will either confirm our confidence or possibly shake our confidence. We’re trying to go the extra mile — we owe the White House the chance to present us with the information, present us with the truth. We want to know from people in the room, also want to know if there are these supposed transcripts.”
As president, Donald Trump has the ability to declassify any classified information. Senator Burr went on to discuss this ability.
“This is probably a good time to take a breath, and understand the President has the ability and the right to talk about intelligence. There is a point that you cut that off with foreign leaders, especially when sources and methods are involved, so it’s crucial that we talk to individuals to find out exactly what was said not necessarily what was not said.”
The idea that Donald Trump illegally shared classified information with Lavrov came from a report by the Washington Post. The story from the Washington Post used an anonymous source in their report. H.R. McMaster was present in the Oval Office when the meeting took place and commented on the information that was discussed.
“The president and the foreign minister reviewed common threats from terrorist organizations to include threats to aviation. At no time were any intelligence sources or methods discussed, and no military operations were disclosed that were not already known publicly.”

This latest scandal has caused talks of impeachment to ramp up. It used to be believed that these talks of impeachment were just democrats who were angry but now the impeachment talks have crossed party lines.
A report by News Max is stating that Representative Justin Amash, republican from Michigan, says Trump should be impeached if it is discovered that he tampered with the FBI investigation into Michael Flynn by asking James Comey to stop the investigation. This would be considered obstruction of justice which is an impeachable offense.
