Taylor Swift has unveiled her new boyfriend in 2017 – Joe Alwyn – and things are pretty serious between the two.
This is Taylor Swift's third seemingly serious relationship over the past 12 months, as the "Blank Space" singer has previously dated Calvin Harris and then infamously dated Thor actor Tom Hiddleston.
Not onboard of either the Tayvin or Hiddleswift ships anymore, Taylor Swift stepped out with her new boyfriend, British actor Joe Alwyn – proving the theory that the "Bad Blood" singer is a fan of dating non-American guys.
Since Taylor Swift's recent dating history came under increased scrutiny, the media has now learned everything about her new man, Joe Alwyn.
Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn have reportedly been dating for months now, with The Sun citing a source as saying that the duo are "the real deal" and that this is "a very serious relationship."
Taylor Swift apparently does not want to repeat the mistakes previously made with her widely-publicized relationship with Hiddleston that barely even lasted three months and ended last September.
The source reveals that after what happened with her failed romance with Hiddleston, Taylor Swift was "determined" to keep her romance with Joe Alwyn "quiet," and that she even spent days in London disguising herself by wearing a wig while seeing the British actor in town.
While Taylor Swift has surely succeeded in keeping her relationship with Joe Alwyn under wraps all this time, a close friend of the "Shake It Off" singer claimed to The Sun that the duo's closest friends and families were aware that Swift and Alwyn have been dating "for several months."
The good thing about Joe Alwyn that bodes well for the long-lasting relationship with Taylor Swift is that he's a family-oriented, loyal man. The Sense of an Ending actor lives with his mom and dad in London, according to People magazine.
Joe Alwyn, who is nearly two years younger than Taylor Swift, was born in Crouch End, London, on February 21, 1991.
Joe Alwyn studied at the National Youth Theater in London until moving on to study drama at the University of Bristol. The actor's decision to pursue acting – his long-time dream – was motivated by landing his first role.
The breakthrough role of Taylor Swift's new boyfriend is the titular role in Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, which hit theaters in 2016.Interestingly, Joe Alwyn never even stepped in front of a camera before auditioning for the film. Although the war film received average reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, it was a unique opportunity for the new boyfriend of Taylor Swift to learn acting from the rest of the cast: Steve Martin, Vin Diesel, and Kristen Stewart. The world saw the release of a yet another film starring Joe Alwyn – The Sense of an Ending – earlier this year. The new boyfriend of Taylor Swift received praises from film critics for his role in the 2017 film. In fact, people will see much more of Joe Alwyn in the coming weeks and months – and not only because his romance with Taylor Swift will be in the spotlight – but also because he's starring in a new psychological thriller Keepers opposite Gerard Butler, and The Favorite co-starring Oscar-winning Emma Stone, who happens to be one of Swift's oldest friends. Last year, the Hollywood Reporter called Joe Alwyn "Hollywood's Next Big Thing," and the actor even landed a cover story in the magazine.
For what it's worth, Joe Alwyn is also "a huge Twilight fan," as revealed by his Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk co-star Kristen Stewart during a joint People Now interview.
