Obama Inauguration: ‘Faith In America’s Future’ New Theme And Vision

The theme for President Obama’s second term in office will be “Faith in America’s Future,” a vision he will announce at his historic second inauguration on January 21, 2013.

When President Obama is sworn in for another four years on Monday, January 21, the inauguration ceremony will be founded on the theme of “Faith in America’s Future,” according to members of the Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies.

The organizers released an outline detailing their intent to capture the historical significance of the date. As The Inquisitr’s John Stegeman reported earlier today, January 21, 2013, marks 150 years since 1863, the year of Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation and the completion of the Capitol dome.

“Our nation has faced countless challenges throughout its history, and each time we have come together as Americans and moved forward with renewed strength,” said Senator Chuck Schumer, chairman of the committee. “During the 57th Presidential Inauguration, Americans from across the country will gather beneath the Capitol Dome to celebrate our history, take measure of how far we have come, and look towards our future with hope and determination.”

In 2009, the theme for Obama’s inauguration was “A New Birth Of Freedom.” This theme also paid tribute to Abraham Lincoln, as the phrase was borrowed from the 16th president’s Gettysburg Address. When the announcement of that theme was released, Senator Dianne Feinstein noted that Obama’s inauguration coincided with the 200th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth.
