Apple iPhone 5 Now Is Readily Available At Apple Stores
The Apple iPhone 5 is now stocked up and ready for sale at Apple Stores throughout the United States. Analysts Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray has been performing nightly checks after stores received stock and his most recent poll shows that 20 out of 20 locations had iPhone 5’s in stock and ready for sale. Munster also discovered that the hard to obtain Verizon Wireless CDMA version of the device is now readily available.
Munster also notes:
“The bottom line is that AT&T, Sprint and Verizon are consistently showing 90%+ availability.”
Apple has experienced display panel issues which ultimately led to stock problems ahead of Black Friday.
Supply issues seem to be on the mend as Apple online locations in the US, Canada and several other regions are also now showing delivery times of just one week. Past orders online were listed up to one month from time of order.
Based on increased supply Gene Munster believes Apple will shipping a whopping 45 million iPhones for the current quarter.
Apple iPhone 5 sales will soon pick up as the company finally received regulatory permission to sell the device in China. Apple is expected to first release the new smartphone on China Telecom with a future release for China Unicom and other carriers.
While iPhone 5 stock is finally reaching sustainable sales levels the company will surely keep a close eye on production. As we have learned in 2012 Foxconn strikes, panel yield issues and other factors can quickly curb stock levels and leave many customers looking for alternatives, namely the Samsung Galaxy S III.
