Jessica Simpson Pregnancy: Weight Watchers Quiet On Status Of Sponsorship

Jessica Simpson’s pregnancy came as a surprise to just about everyone, and that apparently includes Weight Watchers.

The singer and actress became a spokeswoman for the weight loss system after the birth of her first child, Maxwell Drew, and lost 60 pounds. But now with news that Jessica Simpson has another pregnancy, Weight Watchers has kept quiet about whether she will stay on for a second round of sponsored weight loss.

“Any questions related to Jessica’s personal life can only be answered by her team,” Stephanie Schulman, Weight Watchers’ public relations manager, told E! News on Wednesday. “We do not disclose financial details about our relationships with any of our ambassadors.”

The Weight Watchers plan was quite a success for Jessica Simpson in the months after she welcomed Maxwell on May 1. Simpson lost 70 pounds using Weight Watchers along with a rigorous workout plan, and was paid a reported $4 million for the sponsorship.

Jessica Simpson noted that she changed her eating habits after allowing herself to indulge during the first pregnancy. She also bucked down at the gym to take off the weight.

“After having the baby, I’ve had to really, really focus and start training,” Simpson told Good Morning America in September.

Though the first go-round with Weight Watchers was quite a success, Jessica Simpson’s second pregnancy leaves that sponsorship in the air, Us Weekly noted.

Jessica Simpson’s pregnancy comes as she’s adjusted to the role of proud mother, sharing pictures of Maxwell Drew with the world. Over Thanksgiving Jessica posted a series of pictures on Twitter of Maxwell with mom and dad, Jessica’s fiance Eric Johnson.
