Twilight’s Kellan Lutz To Star In ‘Tatua’
For those who were unsure whether or not the cast of Twilight would have a hard time getting gigs after the Twilight series, it looks like another cast member has found work after the series’ end. Twilight hunk Kellan Lutz, who played Emmett Cullen, in the series has now joined as a starring role in the new film Tatua.
The film, which is said to be a potential franchise, is an independent film based on an original comic book concept by Paul Jenkins and Rob Prior. Lutz will play a man with a rare blood type that is tattooed with a strong ink. The ink allows him to use the tattoos to his advantage, by pulling weapons right off of his own skin. It bares mentioning that Lutz’ character is also a covert assassin.
While this can easily be a big budgeted film, Rick Schwartz, who’s set to make his directorial debut wants to focus the film in a more specific genre, more so in the vein of Resident Evil and Underworld, as opposed to other big franchises like The Avengers or Iron Man.
About Kellan Lutz’ casting, Schwartz, who’s producing credits include Machete Kills, Black Swan and The Departed, said:
“Kellan was in the foreground and the background of the Twilight Saga films, but he is a formidable physical presence and this is an opportunity for him to step up. Tatua at its heart is a cool, visually arresting origin story.”
Lutz, who’s easy on the eyes, is currently filming Tarzan, is repped by Innovative and Zero Gravity Management.
