Indianapolis, IN – A dog is being hailed as hero for thwarting a would-be kidnapper’s attempt to steal a baby. Nayeli Garzon-Jimenez was on the phone with her husband when an intruder reportedly broke into her home.
The shocked and frightened mother saw a woman grabbed her 3-month-old daughter and attempt to run to out the back door, according to WISH-TV . Her husband Adolfo Angeles-Morales said he heard his wife screaming and crying before she told him that someone stuck their hand through the door.
Garzon-Jimenez had this to say about the attempted kidnapping:
“The guy said, ‘Give me the money or we take the baby.’ The man said, ‘Money, money.’ I said, ‘I don’t have any.”
The family pit bull was at the back door wouldn’t let the woman running with the baby through. The would-be kidnapper threw the little baby girl at her mother and the pair of intruders rapidly fled from the scene.
Nayeli Garzon-Jimenez was reportedly hit in the head with a gun at some point during the attempted kidnapping. She was treated and released for cut and bruises from a local hospital, according to Yahoo News . The baby girl was unharmed, even though she was tossed about like a football by the female intruder.
Indianapolis police officers are searching for a black man believed to be around 35 years old, with acne scars, a close-cut beard, and roughly 6-foot-2 inches tall. The suspected male intruder is heavy set with light skin. The alleged black female intruder is believed to be in her mid-20s, also heavy set, approximately 5-foot-10, and has two lip piercings and an eyebrow piercing.
